Fortunately I did get it right on the first try... 32 Kanthal, 4 turns, 1.9 ohms, rocking at 11W on an SVD gives me plenty of flavor... I'd say almost as my Vapeonly BCC. I feel no need to widen the hole, for the time being at least. When I'm able to afford a second one I'll give it a try. I love flavor better than vapor, so for now it stays that way.
One question: For increased TH, what if I turn the hole away from the coil a tad? Will it increase or decrease vapor?
Great way for a shot of concentrated nic, I don't know why I didn't buy one before!!!
One more question: To change flavors, do you wash it or simply start vaping the new flavor?

Generally, the closer to the airhole the coil, the more vapor provided. The further away the coil, the more throat hit, but less vapor.

Yeah, after taking a closer look (and reading some of the discussions on FastTech), this is NOT an Igo-L but a clone.
To swap flavors clean, I take the IGO off of the PV, remove the cap and run it under hot tap water for 15-20 seconds, blot dry and then dry burn, check your coils and refill.

I'm thinking of making a bow with two long legs, coil in the middle. Needs not be too big, so you'd quadruple the surface of the silica with the wick, and a long wick to saturate. I'll try tonight, see if it works.

This is my first RBA. Bought the IGO-L locally and the guy made the wick and coil. So I bought some wick and coil online and have tried to make a few coils. 32 AWG kanthal wire with 3.0 mm silica wick. Any hints on the easiest way to make the coil for use on a mechanical mod?
think that is 28 awg with 3.0mm wick. the wick is double wrapped for "capacity", but I ended up changing it up with ekowool, and using only one loop. with three coils with 28awg, it is 1.0 ish ohms. with 26awg, it is 0.6-0.9 ohms.

the draw must be pretty stiff
Depending onw what you're using as wick material.
Cotton:
- Make the coil on a drill tip first.
-- 1/16 drill tip is ~1.58mm in diameter
-- 5/64 drill tip is ~1.99mm in diameter
-- 3/32 drill tip is ~2.38mm in diameter
- Install the Coil:
-- Don't worry about wick yet.
-- Just make sure that you get the coil positioned where you want it and that it's firing properly.
- Insert the Wick:
-- Make sure that the cotton piece is not so thin that it doesn't fill up the coil when moist.
-- Make sure the cotton piece is not so thick that you can't insert it cleanly, or that it will choke the coil once moist.
- Add Juice:
-- Don't fire the coil with a dry wick. You'll burn the cotton and will have to redo the wick.
- Profit.
You can use the same method for other types of wick (silica, ceramic, ekowool).
If you have the hollow type of silica/ceramic/ekowool rope; you can insert the drill bit you're using as your base into the rope and wrap the coil straight onto it.
