Wow did this thread remind me of the worst part of being a server/network admin/engineer....

NO ONE has control of DNS propagation. I've seen it fly through in 20 minutes, and I've seen it take 3-4 days to finish. Some people may see it before others do...depends on when your DNS server gets updated. (or actually more importantly...when the payment processor's is)


And just an FYI for those that keep looking to "Checkout" using the temporary/working URL...that's not going to happen. "Checkout" will only be there and working when you are on [B]HTTPS://WWW.IKENVAPE.COM[/B] That's where the payment processor is tied to. If it worked from anyplace else, it would be possible for people to hijack the payment system.

When he is ready to accept sales it would be nice if he would just post the ip address.

MT makes a good point but a notice when it ready hopefully will be in advance. Not everyone has time to check the thread very minute and I know I'd hate to be the one to find out it was up and then find out a item is already sold out. Just say'n to make it fair to everyone. Maybe he has a ton of inventory and it won't make a difference but I know before the site when down and I heard how good the io6s were they were sold out.....just say'n...

It can take a long time for the nameservers to update - it can take anywhere from minutes to days depending on routing. I hope Isaac posts the ip address of the new site when it is up and running.

All you have to do is ping the website and you'll get the IP address.

I am sure that he will...Isaac is more anxious to get this up than anybody that needs a few attys is. Your/our vaping pleasure has been inconvenienced....his livelihood is non-existant ATM.

Gotcha! I thought you were talking about people trying to complete transactions when the test site was a subdomain of "mybigcommerce.com". I always just use the ip address to access my sites before a domain has resolved but I forgot about the payment processor and ssl. Thanks!

Anyway - Let's hope that all the changes being made and effort that Isaac is putting in will allow for smooth and problem free site use and growth in the future. It is a shame the site had to go down but it is usually better in the long run to just take the time to get things "right" then to try patching stuff up and hope for the best.
