Congrats on taking the BIG step to quitting..*clap*
I smoked for over 30 years. I have COPD and HAD to quit. My daughter researched e-cigarettes and talked me into trying them. Both her and I have quit. Smoked my last analog about 4pm Nov 14th. Haven't touched one since. Haven't even had a craving for one.
I use the Ego-T.. I vape Atomic Fireball flavor. Yummy...
Stay with it ..I tell you its worth it.

If you want a standard style PV and we can't talk you into something a little larger with better battery life, Go for a Volt from Smokeless Image, The Bloog or Elite Vaporworks. All are quality products. All produce a great PV that I use sometimes when I don't need the longevity the bigger batteries provide. Get a kit that gives you at least 2 batteries and dont' go for the 65mm. They don't last long at all.

Welcome to ECF and the only "stupid" questions are those that aren't asked. Cartomizers are prolly the easiest way to start- you'll also need some juice.
Here's a great Starter Kit:
SLB KGO Starter Kit
Cartomizers- Buy a 5 pack get a free 5mL bottle of juice any mix, flavor, and nicotine strength !!
Boge LR 510 Cartomizer - 5 Pack

Discount code for 15% off is ECFDCV

Hi Neissie,

You'll undoubtedly get many many suggestions...allow me to be the first. I'd go with an eGo kit that contains 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, and at least 5 cartridges. The carts can be refilled probably around 5-8 times before changing to a new one. You can also repack those with Fluval (as there are many tutorials on YouTube as to the method) instead of replacing with new. The eGo is made by Joyetech. Beware of knock offs as is prevalent in all markets China.

The 2 batteries will serve you well for quite awhile, charging them each night, keep your atomizers clean, you shouldn't have any problem. Mike has a video describing these, showing how much he vapes on his website:

Mike & Carol's Internet Store

There are a plethera of vendors out there. You can look in the section here on ECF :

Reviews of Suppliers - Positive

Make sure to get yourself some juice. I am trying the Johnson Creek Sampler (10-3.7 ml. bottles of variety...coming tomorrow) Heck, for 15 bucks, you can't beat it.

This starter Kit includes 2 1100 mah batteries. When buying remember 100 mah= approx 1 hour of vaping before you have to recharge the battery. With this Kit each battery should last a minimum of 10 hrs before recharge. As for the cartomizers you simply drip approx 20 drops in the container screw it on to the battery and vape. Should be able to get at least 40 puffs before having to fill it again OR you could purchase the larger cartomizers (XL, Mega) that take approx 40- 60 drops to fill.

Welcome to ECF and the only "stupid" questions are those that aren't asked. Cartomizers are prolly the easiest way to start- you'll also need some juice.

As mentioned in my original post I don't want to do my own juices "Drip"

It's definitely not as hard as it sounds and we'll help, but Smokeless Image and the others I listed do come prefilled or empty. You may still want to get some juice to add anyway because the carts are reusable a couple of times. (I know, I know.....it's just a suggestion) I use carts that hold a lot of juice and I fill them in the evening and vape during the day.

If you do go for the ease of use off the bat, spring for the PCC kit so you don't have to worry about an uncharged battery.
I used a smilar one for a year and it got me off the stinkies. Now it's turned into a hobby and I enjoy trying the different models and things they come out with.

Good luck.....kick ....!

Prefilled is really going to limit your flavor options. An ego t is going to give you tanks that you fill with about a ml of juice and it lasts for quite a while, varying of course by how much you vape. The average is about 3 ml a day, so with 2 egos (what comes in most kits) just starting the day with those 2 will last you through most of the day, if not all day. It is not like dripping, where you are constantly having to add more juice.

Prefilled is also going to get very pricey, as buying juice is much cheaper than the prefilled cartos. Not sure how long the prefilled lasts either... maybe someone can chime in?

As far as prefilled recommendations, I can't help there as I haven't used them. If that is still the route you want to go, someone else will be able to help.

+1 for what Vapor eyes er said. You do want something to use that's as easy as reaching for a cigarette. The two things that will get in your way, once you've purchased good equipment, is a battery that needs charging and carts that need filling. Knowing how to fill them yourself can be very important. It's like having that spare lighter in the glove box.

Thank you Freefire, I'll check it out but remember folks I don't want to add my own juice I prefer prefilled

Just my :2c: but I started off with a pen-style, bought prefilled cartridges, and threw them away when done. It is a more expensive way to do things, but, it probably is easier for a beginner. You can always learn about juices and dripping later. When I first started, I didn't even know you COULD refill the cartridges.

IMHO, I would avoid V2. I purchased from them for several months and they were VERY slow with shipping. They were also less than honest about what was in stock.

I purchased a few times from vapor4life.com. They have simple easy-to-use kits, and a variety of prefilled carto's.
Like I said it's more expensive to buy the prefilled, but if you don't have a lot of time to devote to research (like me) then it's probably the best way (again IMHO) to start off.

Keep in mind, the pen styles last about 3 hours and take about 3 hours to charge, so get a kit with at least 2 batteries. YMMV.

Good luck! :vapor:

I have only been vaping a few months and know how you feel. I have smoked for about 30 years and last brand was American Spirits.

I went and bought an ego T and within an hour returned it.

I got a bullet with stacked 3 volt bats so I am running 6volts.

I added a Liquinator Tank and love it because there is no dripping.

Now I want to upgrade to a Variable Volt unit. I am sure a 3.7 Volt unit would not be enough for me.

I honestly do not think you will be happy with a lower voltage and like many people on this forum, I suspect I will land in the high 4 to low 5 volts.

I will likely, but not decided yet go to the Buzz Pro because I already have the CR123a batteries and Charger. Those Batteries are available in most places like Radio Shack.

Pay attention on how to fill the Cart's as it makes a difference. There are plenty of You tube places to help you.

I like being able to go to a store at first and if you have one close then do go. Soon you will be making your own mix. I have placed my orders.

Your body will go through changes after you quit smoking. Vaping is great but not a 100% replacement but I have not smoked even with a smoker in the house.

Some say that 1 carto = 1 pack of analogs, but that's not really true, IMO.
The main thing is the change in the taste after a while. While, technically, you are still getting vapor to come out of it, if it's starting to get empty it starts loosing taste and eventually starts tasting burnt (which means it time to throw out).
I used to be a pack a day smoker, but I would usually use 2 carto's a day.

After about 4 months of pen-styles and prefilled cartos I started doing research, switched to a 510 mod, direct-drip onto atty's and never looked back.

Give yourself time to get used to it. The way I looked at it, even buying all those prefilled cartos and throwing them out was still way cheaper than analogs and I stopped wheezing! Win/Win
