Ok there have been some recommendations made here and I'm certain the OP is more confuded than ever. My final advice...
find a Starter Kit that suits you and is quality.
next find a website such as mentioned by Charlz that sells pre filled cartidges or cartomizers. I believe cartomizers are easier to use.
Before you finalize your order please post your order here in case you've missed something.
Good Luck and please understand we are not "slick salesman/ women" but merely passionate about vaping and what it has done for us. I'm 60 yrs and truly believed I'd being going to my grave a smoker.
Good Luck, Vapoor.

Voltage is not really a consideration when you are first starting out vaping. Mods are for later on when you want to play with the voltage to tune your vaping level. When you increase voltage, you also have to increase the resistance of the atomizer or cartridge you are using, so 3.7v with a LR atty or carto is the same as 5v with a 3 ohm atty. It's the balance of the two that produces a given wattage and vape level. Variable voltage does let you fine tune the vape voltage level to optimize the vapor and taste for certain juices. That can be nice.

An eGo style battery, preferably one with higher charge life like the 1000mah eGo will get you through a day at work. A spare is a good idea in case you don't come right home or have to work late. Cartos are one of the favorites here, but some use various other atomizers, tanks, and exotic devices to get their favorite vape.

If you have high capacity batteries, you certainly don't need a PCC (personal charging case). That's for slim ecigs that have short battery life. You can charge any battery in your car or at work, as well as at home. For the car, just plug the charger cable into a USB cigarette lighter adapter. People who vape at work and at home frequently find a passthrough device handy. It lets you plug your atomizer/tank/cartomizer into your computer and power it off the USB ports without using the battery up. Make sure you get one with a battery box inline to take the load off the computer USB ports.

There are many options to consider. The first thing to concentrate on is buying an ecig that works well and has long battery life between charges. eGo or Kgo or Riva 510 will give you that.

I am still confused and still learning. Likely is some good advice on getting a simple kit but in my case the Ego T just would not put up with my bad behavior. I know vaping is not the same as smoking but after 30 years for smoking full flavor cigs' I was pulling hard. The Ego T was dumping in my mouth and leaking within 20 mins.

I did not find the tank that hard to deal with, but filling the carto was the trickly for me at first. I did not realize you had to prime it as much as you do, even with the tank.

Welcome to ECF and the only "stupid" questions are those that aren't asked. Cartomizers are prolly the easiest way to start- you'll also need some juice.
Here's a great Starter Kit:
SLB KGO Starter Kit
Cartomizers- Buy a 5 pack get a free 5mL bottle of juice any mix, flavor, and nicotine strength !!
Boge LR 510 Cartomizer - 5 Pack

Discount code for 15% off is ECFDCV

+1 on the Kgo, very high quality.
+1 on boge LR 510 great cartos

a KGO/Riva/eGoT type kit is an ideal starting spot. then add cartomizers to the mix for good vapor/flavor reproduction. you can put about 1.6ml of juice into one (or more if you buy bigger ones) and that should last you half a day maybe. 2 or 3 of them should be enough for a day.

most people avoid prefilled because there's limited flavor, and they are kind of viewed like crayons to an artist.

I would never recommend a tank system because some new vapers have problems with them but others don't. I use Mega cartos and don't feel the need for a tank. I also use dual coil cartos so I get the hit that I need. I also have a mechanical Mod so I can control the amount of vape I need/ want. I have friends who started on cartos and some of whom are now successfully using tanks.Yes I agree with you that the first fill of cartomizers is very important.

I admit to doing some research prior. I found the large mod's off putting so I did not switch. Right before Halloween, I just got a disposable blu-cig. It worked and I used then about a week while researching. I thought the Ego T was what I wanted, went and got it.

I was still heavy in withdrawals.... While I was returning the unit, a customer let me try his bullet with a tank. He was buying weird flavors too. I tried it, and moved away from tobacco flavors too. I know I am not typical but it also seems that most people move away from the pen style sooner or later so I just jumped.

I like the tank as I can fill it and go for the whole day. It works well for me on the go.

FWIW, you are giving the tradtional advice that most people will and likely should follow.

Just based on the "what I don't want to do's" that you listed, I would recommend a KR808d-1 model ecig, which is a two piece set up . Branded KR8 model ecigs would be The Volt, or a Bloog Max fusion ... or you can find a vendor who sell Original Kanger KR808D basic kits, which are most always cheaper than their fancier branded counterparts named above.

Do a search either here or on google for KR808D-1 model kits and don't let anyone push you into big batt manual style PVs, because you are clearly are in need of a ANALOG replacement.

Take it from Me, I started with big batt Ego's only to work my way to KR8's now, many months later ... why? Because I want something that is as close to smoking as possible ie: action, function, feel ... and big batts or Mods don't provide that.

I don't care how much vapor or throat hit they may produce, because they function/handle nothing like a cigarette , you will KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT SMOKING, and there is a good chance that you will still desire to hold, handle, and puff away on a cigarette ... so it's best to start with something that will feel "closer" to the real thing.

I am not saying that you can't successfully quit using a big batt PV, because so many here have done exactly that ... However, I can tell from your post that you prolly are not that guy ... and there is nothing wrong with that. You need to pick the PV that is best suited to meet your psychological needs and tendencies .. you need an analog style PV.

Make sure you have at least 3 batteries total to start, so that you are never without a full battery. Get a PCC starter kit which comes with one to two batteries depending which kit you buy, and also buy an xtra batt. A 280mah battery will last you 3-4hrs depending on how much you vape.... the kits will contain 2-5 cartomizers depending on the kit. I would also purchase at least two xtra 5 pks of cartos, and at least 30 ml of juice to start at 18-24mg of nic. Nic needs vary, so you may need less or more, but you won't know until after you start vaping.

Once you have licked your smoking habit and have become accustomed to vaping, then branch out into big batts, mods, vv, etc.... Good luck :)

Checkout MadVapes they have competitive prices, great customer service and fast shipping..if you're confused call them during business hours I'm sure they would steer you in the right direction. I've been buying from them since last June.

One thing you need to do is just find a kit go with it if you don't like try something else. I would suggest eGo 510 style batteries as 510 connectors are the most used and availble..once you find what suits you stick with it..good luck :)

+1 on the KR808D-1. I think of them as training wheels. Some people (like me) don't like to jump in the deep end right off the bat. Some do. It's as much a personality thing as it is anything I think. I wanted something that felt like an analog. Then moved on from there. I think many people did the same thing.

Very true ... And I have noticed that many start with mini's and analog styles, then move forward into bigger or different things ... and some stay right where they are because like you said, it's a personality thing as well ;-)

Everyone is not looking for or needs a 12 hour battery ... I have 3 Ego kits from 650-1100mah, I like them.. but they didn't do it for Me in the long run. Then I found the KR808D-1 and it hits all the right spots for me.

This kit Electronic Flavored Cigarettes | E-Cigs Personal Charger Case | E-Cigarette Starter Kit

with these cartos. Try the Reds if you want marlboro-ish flavor, but it won't be the same. Definitely try some 555 and RY4. Electronic Cigarette Cartomizers | E-cigarette cartomizers | Smoking Alternative

Plenty of great choices here as well Vapor King E-Cigarette Cartomizers

You will eventually want to fill your own cartos, so don't throw away the pre-filled cartos when they are done(Hear me now, believe me later!). Then get bottles of juice - E-cig Liquid - the best e-liquid range and do this with them -

Neissie,

You are getting a lot of good recommendations here but I'll add a new one of my own.

I recommend the E-Power 14650 from Hoosier.

E-Power From Smok Tech and HECS

-Can use XL sized cartomizers. You only have to fill two cartos a day maximum if you were used to 1.5 packs a day. Filling from a bottle of e-liquid provides better flavor and economy than using pre-filled cartos.

-E-Power 14650 is a 3.7V device. It can produce much more vapor than your cigarette produced smoke.

-Can use low resistance (LR) cartos that produce a huge amount of vapor on 3.7V

-E-Power 14650 is very well made and won't cost you a fortune.

-Uses inexpensive standard rechargeable 14650 Li-ion protected batteries. One will last you more than a day per charging. These will cost you $4.50 or so apiece at replacement time, not up to $25 apiece.

-Power 14650 is small enough to fit in a pocket.

I recommend that you purchase the E-Power 14650 from Hoosier as I know he offers this pv with the blue LED switch electronics. There has been trouble with units equipped with the white LED switch electronics. Hoosier shipping is fast. He also carries the Smoktech 1.7 ohm LR XL cartomizer that is a standout with 3.7V units.

Possibly Nessie may want to copy/ paste all the links here of the different models into Word and study them more closely. dormouse and swedishfish are two very classy, honest and knowledgeable ladies that could steer you in the right direction. I know in my heart that you can do it and I will be hoping for the best.
Sincerely, Vapoor.

Let me come up with a list of PVs you could choose from with the pros and cons simplified. I'll also include a list of PRE FILLED :) cartomizers. I will also include links to all the products. Prolly have it ready tomorrow morning. Is that ok?

I think we got off my topic I don't want to DRIP!

Did you not read my post?

What I suggested is BETTER than V2 or Greensmoke, and CHEAPER to boot. If you want a good starter kit that looks like a cigarette clone, the Bloog Maxx Fusion is a really good one that is suggested often on this forum, as is Vapor4Life, Volt,, Smoov, or Halo G6.
Greensmoke is a complete ripoff, and believe it or not, a lot of us started with V2Cigs. They make good stuff, but they are pricey when compared to the others I just mentioned.

We understand you don't want to drip. Again, I linked to 2 places that will serve your purpose perfectly, and at a good price. Plenty of flavor options at Vapor4Life.
