In need of a better pv

Hello,
Ive been vaping off and on for around a year. all my vaping thus far has been with a 510. Im looking to move to something new. (It does not have to look like an analog)

I'm not to familiar with the new devices so I will provide some guidelines

wants:
insane throat hit
good flavor
tons of vaper

dont want:
to be stuck in a constant battery charging parade
easily flooded atty
to direct drip every 10 min

looking for a solid pv I can rely on.

I am a heavy vaper the 510 rarley leaves my hand. but I always feel like im chasing a feeling I can not get with the device (24mg juice). any recommendations my veteran friends?

I'm going to recommend the KGO or the SE Riva, both on sale right now, I think.

BreezEsmokes - Premium Electronic Cigarettes

For $40 you get two full 1100 mAh ecigs: 2 510 attys, two 1100 mAh batts, two cones, some carts and a charger. Fresh off the charger you will get up to a full volt more over your 510 batt (~4.2V vs 3.2V). You will notice a big difference! And this price for the KGO is excellent. I love mine, its my main PV these days. The SE Riva (Liberty Flights has them) is similarly higher in voltage, but I believe is only 650 mAh. Your 510 batts are, if they are the original shorter batts, abuot 160 mAh. I get about 7 hours of heavy vaping out of my KGO.

You might ask if its the same kind of battery (Li-ion) why is the KGO/SE Riva higher in voltage? They are not regulated, while the original 510 batt is regulated to about 3.2V.

The KGO comes with good regular ohm (2.5 ohm) attys, which are fine for most people and are most often dripped in. Its nice sometimes, but I generally use Boge 2.0 ohm cartomizers. Breezesmokes sells Joye cartos, and I don't recommend them...too stiff of a draw, don't wick well. Boges are probably the most popular and for good reason: they ROCK! LitecigUSA sells them for about $8/5-box, and if you use the coupon code summer10 you get 10% off. This is about as good as you will find for these.

You can get about 1 mL of juice into a Boge carto. How long that lasts you is obviously dependent on your vaping habits, the ohms (lower is hotter more vapor, eats juice faster). I put a drip tip on mine, and just top them off occasionally. You can clean them up and reuse them several times, too. I get weeks and weeks out of mine.

Boge 2.0 ohm carto on a KGO is probably my favorite vape, and should get you more in the direction you are looking for not a lot of money. Of course TH also depends on juice viscosity, PG content, nic level, even the flavor of the juice, but all that is not addressing your main question about actual hardware. I also use dual-coil 1.6 ohm SmokeTech cartos, which have LOTS of vapor, but not as much heat as a 2.0 ohm Boge carto, so better flavor.

You can also get eGo battery-passthroughs. Lots of vendors sell them. The eGo batt is regulated to 3.2V, so is about as strong as your 510 batts, but you can plug it in to a USB and vape that way, and also have 650 mAh to carry around offline too. The "never leaving your hand" statement made me think a PT would be useful for you.

There are also other types of attys and cartos. Low resistance attys, down to as low as 1.4 ohms, will of course deliver lots of hit and vapor, but will run your batteries down faster. CE2 cartos which are very nice too, but rather finicky and high maintenance at this point. And of course with a KGO or Riva or eGo you can try tank attys/carts as well. These batteries have enough capacity that you have many many choices for attys/cartos.

And of course you can spend more $ and get bigger and more capable mods, but for what you are listing here, I think these will make you much happier. Oh, and if you do go with a KGO, Riva or eGo, it is possible to use the standard 510 charger for them (they will come with their own too), but you have to get a 510 extension to use a standard 510 charger.

There are other models that look like a big eGo which are actually tube mods that open up and you put in your own battery, like a 900 mAh 14500 or a 2600 mAh 18650. I have a 14500 NoEgo ($25) which is very nice

Jazz cartopipe the first Cartomizer Pipe

but you have to buy your own batteries (about $7 for a 14500, about $16 for an 18650) and you also will need a Li-ion charger. There is also a very similar model called the E-Power, sold by a few vendors. These are all regulated to 3.7V, so still more oomph than the standard 510, but there is noticeably more oomph with the KGO.

A PV these days really is two separate pieces: the cartomizer (or atomizer) and the battery that you power it with. Often they are sold separately.

Cartomizer:

Since you don't want "to direct drip every 10 min," I recommend cartomizer rather than atomizer. You could go with an atty/tank combination, but I believe that more vapers are happy with the today's best cartomizers than with the tanks. [Kurt and I certainly are.] And, unless you get a high or variable voltage mod for your battery, LR cartomizers are what will provide you the "insane throat hit" and "tons of vaper." ["good flavor" is primarily an attribute of the e-liquid.]

Kurt has recommended one of today's two most popular 510-compatible LR cartomizers: the Boge 2.0 ohm. It certainly is excellent, but I prefer the Smok Tech Mega Dual Coil (also available for a very good price from LiteCigUSA.] pbusardo (who loves them both) has done an excellent comparative review of these two cartomizers.

Also – although it is not nearly as popular – I love the 801 cartomizer (which I use with a $1 510-to-801 adapter from Good Prophets on 510-compatible batteries). To me, it provides the best flavor, although the Smok Tech is a close second. Vapor Junction sells the EastMall version and LiteCigUSA sells the Boge version. Both are excellent and available in regular resistance or LR.

Battery:

Oodles of choices! Your first decision is: fat batt or mod. Fat batts are more slender and the initial purchase price usually is less. [The cost of replacement batteries is greater, but it would take quite some time for that to pay off with a mod investment.] Many have the same mAh and voltage of many of the mods. Some mods (e.g., with 18650 or 26650 batteries) have very high mAh (2000-4000). Some are 5V or 6V or even variable voltage.

Kurt has provided you some great fat batt and mod recommendations and I personally can vouch for most of them.

If bang-for-the-buck is a factor for you, I think that Liberty-Flights' Riva-510 "Lite Bundle" for $30 is a great deal. [Click on the "20% Discount" icon in the upper left of the screen first, to see that price.] BTW, the Riva is 750 mAh and I believe that the batteries in that kit now also are 3.7V (not only those in the "Special Edition"). For even more time between battery charges, the 1100 mAh KGO ($40 from BreezEsmokes) is indeed a good low-cost choice. [Since I wanted it in chrome, I paid $5 more and got mine from Hoosier E-Cig Supply.]

If cost is not a pressing concern, the Joye eGo remains the highest quality fat batt available. Liberty-Flights sells the 650 mAh version ("Standard Bundle") for $40. BreezEsmokes sells the 1000 mAh version for $50. The eGo is only 3.2V, but that is just fine with LR cartomizers ... and it enables the use of certain accessories, e.g., the brand new Ego Booster, which I beta tested and just reviewed. It turns the eGo (and only the eGo) into a variable voltage device, enabling you to get that TH and vapor from any atomizer or cartomizer (not only LR) you put on it. It's expensive: $60, available only from Happy Vaper. If you think this is something you might want to purchase and use in the future then give serious consideration to spending the extra $10 now for the Joye eGo.

The world of mods is so vast, it is difficult to make a recommendation. You could start your exploration with my Mods Buyers Guide to get ideas. Kurt has recommended one of the least expensive (but still very high quality): the NoEgo: 14500/14650 (900/1050 mAh) or 18650 (2200+ mAh) versions. They are eGo-shaped (but larger), 3.7V, and work wonderfully with LR cartomizers. I own and love both. But – since you probably do not yet have the batteries or charger – the virtually identical e-Powers would be more convenient purchases. BreezEsmokes sells both the 14650 and 18650 versions.
