Any concept of how vaping will be viewed in the decades to come is purely speculative. But, some of us are stocked up to the point that, if we choose, we can continue vaping decades into the future...regardless of regulations.
If you're still vaping in 20-years, in spite of regulations which would inhibit vaping...how do you picture that scene? Are you a criminal, a pariah, a fool, a freak?
Would young folk appreciate your antiquated mods? Or pity you? In the year 2040.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Are you a criminal, a pariah, a fool, a freak?

I would guess all of the above. I feel it's already like that to a degree.

The owners of the USA have successfully positioned vaping right next to smoking in the public eye and actually worse with the EVALI sh--show.

Even smokers look down on vaping as the worst of 2 evils.Had smokers tell me vaping is gonna kill me

I don't believe it will get any better because I believe we are where we are on purpose.

Whatever. If all I have to do to keep people away form me is vape, sounds like a good deal :vapor:

Definitely a pariah and a freak. Not a fool because the smokers will be the ones getting sick, not us. As far as criminal, probably, when they slowly take away our freedom, until it is actually illegal to vape. They're doing it one step at a time and have been since vaping first was introduced to the USA.

In 1950 published research in the British Medical Journal showed a close link between smoking and lung cancer.
In 1964 the United States Surgeon General's Report on Smoking and Health likewise began suggesting the relationship between smoking and cancer, which confirmed its suggestions 20 years later in the 1980s.
Sooooo... Maybe in 14 years the U.S. will suggest vaping might be less harmful than smoking and 20 years later confirm vaping WAS at least 95% less harmful than smoking...
I hope I live to see it.
Until then those of us in the U.S. who had the opportunity for THR were blessed. I don't think any of us cared what others thought of us or we would have stopped by now.

Although I view optimism and pessimism as equivalent fallacies, I'd like to lean a bit toward a general improvement over the past 4-5 years. It's not rational. But, neither is nihilism.

    What about you NCC?

How do you answer your own questions?
    1st, I have doubt I'll be alive in 20 years...but, it's possible.
I wonder. I hope vaping hasn't become a primary means of nicotine addiction, rather than a reduced harm delivery alternative for those addicted to combustible tobacco.
Two decades doesn't seem very long when you're up in the years like I am. But, I've been in the ring, and seen the changes in hardware, in only a decade. Other than likely improvements in battery technology, I don't think there's much room for improvement in the delivery system...aside from the ever present manufacturer's need for shiny new objects to sell.
I hope babies born today, the young adults of 2040, can appreciate today's technology. And hopefully, recognize (beyond negative propaganda) how many lives it has saved. Maybe even appreciate the craftsmanship in some of today's advanced mods.
I'm an old fart who digs old craft and gizmos though, I don't know if tomorrow's folks will share that.

We can only hope, but since Mr. Potatohead and Dr. Seuss are so offensive now, I have major doubts.

Yep,cancel culture is getting way,way i mean way out of hand.
Next up: I get cancelled for breathing because it’s offensive to people with asthma, and cancelled for living because it’s offensive to dead people.

If people doesn't start changing i weep for the future of our planet, this right here:

Would go from being a fictional comedy to full blown in real life documentary.

And about vaping i don't think it will disappear,to many people already know the truth.
20 years not enough time to make a gigantic scientific advancement like for example having a pill that slowly releases nicotine into your body.
Take one a month, nano particles detect your levels of stress and once reached a certain threshold they release a dose of nicotine into your bloodstream.

I hope for our sake that politicians and those that are hidden behind the curtain moving all the strings like in the Wizard of Oz start thinking more with their heart and brain than their wallet.

If my family history is a good indicator...
I will have trouble remembering my name.
I most likely won't remember my kids or grandkids.
Probably would be better if I stay away from the stove, so I will be eating a breakfast biscuit at Bojangles or Hardee's.
And I will still have enough nicotine, PG and VG to vape, but I might have to teach my grandkids (who will be in their 40's by then) how to mix up my favorite DIY concoctions).

Yeah, the cancel-culture is overboard. But such trends swing back and forth (I hope), so let's try optimism for 2040:

E-Cigs of the future will have new-nic (a synthetic with less vascular impact), and no-nic versions, and be otherwise GOOD FOR YOU. So that they're
    100% green-energy made.
Use new small-sized super-batteries that charge quickly and last > 1 day.
Have healing chemicals in them to thwart all the nasty pandemic-viruses and clean up pollution damage in your lungs and promote lung healing.
    Taste great.
Improve memory and have MAOI's that calm the radicals the :censored: down.
    No sin taxes either.

    :D

I don't care all that much but if all this karp is worth something, I hope my kids behave themselves splitting it all up (after I no longer need it, of course).
