Innokin U-can modded to Full Mechanical Hybrid Mod

Nice! So you found it in yourself to drill one more hole, huh? (vent) I ran out of holes. Where'd you get the cool blue o-ring? I'm mostly curious how people set up their contacts on the deck, and I can't see yours clearly . Whatcha got goin' on up there?

I found it easier drilling this guy than A7. I am running out of 1/16” though. Blue o-ring, hmmm can't find the source, too many orders, been too long.

Most guys probably do not have these things handy but here it goes…

This makes the entire post, with the spare screws from AGA/AGI at either end.
Brass C260 Seamless Round Tubing, 3/32" OD, 0.066"ID, 0.014" Wall, 12" Length (Pack of 3): Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Lollipop stem sleeves the lower half of the post, to prevent the battery pushing up the post.

A few mm of this provides insulation and seal. (drill to this size, 1/8”)
Clear NSF-61 Polyurethane Tubing, 0.063" ID, 0.125" OD, 0.031" Wall, 25' Length: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Then this.
Shoulder Washer, Nylon 6/6, Plain Finish, 0.1" Bolt Size, 0.1000" ID, 0.1140" OD, 0.0460" Thick, Pack Of 100: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

followed by spring and washer.

While this thing wobbles slightly and works fine, I’ll want to try something different later…with nylon bolt and nut (M6 maybe?) in the middle providing insulation, seal, and support, drill/drive a 4-40 through the middle –> sturdy and adjustable.

For the negative, 1 - 2 holes by 3/64 or 1/16” at 45° angle, from surface to side wall alone the edge. Beware the thickness of the metal.

So, for your neg. contact, your poking the wire into a hole (holes)? juice doesn't . . . . . OH I SEE . . . you've drilled a hole through the "corner" of the deck but not through the plane of the deck? GREAT IDEA!

I had one U-Can kindly donated by Floorzone, and although it was a bit different in the plunger pin area (leading to a few extra hassles with the switch) I manages to make what you see here.
I hate drippers as they are to much hassle to keep topping up and silica sucks IMO.
If there is some interest I will post some internal pics and instructions, but really this is more for floorzone's benfit at this stage, to say thanks, and yep I could do somthing with it

Looks awesome! Looks like you chopped the "deck" off the u-can to get the RSST down to the battery. What are you using to make the 510 connection? (Guessing a washer with a 510 connector press fit into place???)

Did you do anything different with the bottom button?

perhaps 2x 510-510 adapters, a bit sanding on the bottom one, sandwich the "deck".

I'm guessing not... The "chi-bred" and the natural/RSST both have the pos pin of the atty making direct contact with the battery... No center pin in the 510 connector. I was thinking the 510 connector simply because its quick & easy way to get the threads... Just cut it even with the atty connection.

I could be wrong... I really wanna see what's under that atty...

Edit: I think you're right... Looks like there's too much height above the logo to allow the atty to make direct contact...

Kimono up

Ok It's pretty rough and ready but this is the gist.
Top section.

1.drill hole for 510 connector from atty, tight a fit as possible to reduce slop.
2.Grind down topcap to a flush fit with the topdeck of the body.
3. Cut off top of old ego battery for 510 clamping nut.
4. Remove internal silicone O-ring from inside top section
cut section of brass rod (cant remember the size, but you can work it out) drill 2.55-2.65 mm hole through conter and tap with M3 tap, fill one end with drop of solder.
5. Drop atty through hole in lid, center while clamping with ego battery threaded section.
6. Screw brass bar onto RSST prodruding thread.

Battery section. (remove all O-rings originally installed)

1. Remove threading from one end of a brass mini DUD center post, and polish of chrome.
2. Cut post section oversize to be ground down later to a perfect length.
3.Drill out bottom button and counter sink to accept larger brass screw.
4. Grind one side of a brass nut by1/2 to 2/3 of it's original thickness.
5. Bevel or dome the unground side of the nut.
6. source lighter spring (cheap black allen key set was again the source for me) trim and size
7. Drill out hole inside base to accept brass mini dud post section.
8. Assemble button, and cut screw and Dud post to fit.

9. Insert O-ring or silicone/rubber spacer into tube body to insulate batter while button is not pressed.

10. use some copper wire to fill the groove in the button sides to aid conductivity and reduce binding.
11. Polish, or not

There is fiddling and jigling to be done , but that's the meat guys

CHI CHI is using original 510 connector, Natural Hybridized is direct contact battery to RSST pin, U-Can I have posted about
