I am a supplier, but please don't forget that I started as a modder. That being said I heard some interesting news I thought you all would want to know. I have used the SWADJ3 and basic micro's Version of the 3amp step-down regulator, and they work great.

Now from what I understand evolve is going to be releasing their power regulation setup as a standalone for modders. I don't have a lot of info (I don't work for them) but I heard it will possibly be released in a few months.

Now knowing this what are your thoughts on the ability to make mods that are power regulated instead of VV? i know there are people on both sides of the fence but what is the general consensus on both?

I personally prefer power reg. but own both and use them both for different purposes. But I can imagine a home made bottom fed power regulated mod that can be assembled at home without paying redonkulous overhead charges. Almost a utopian vaping situation.

actually you can use either but I have found that atty's in the 2.2-3 ohm range work best. It has more to do with the amps needed to run a low ohm atty. Supposedly these are gonna be geared towards a 18650 but I assume you will be able to use the Flat cells used in the darwin unit. The good part about this is a dial it and forget it setup, you can set it for 10 watts and put almost whatever you have in it and have 10 watts period.

and with it being a modular system you could feasibly put it into anything that has the room. want a phid with power reg no prob. Want to build your own DO IT. this is a game changer IMHO.

There is an ew Russian mod that will be sold for relatively cheap, it combines features of Darwin and Provari (you can select watts or volts and comes with all the additional features like battery charge, ohm check and more)
Now its sold in premade mod but the guy that made it will be selling just the assembled motherboard already with LCD and button to be used in your own mods

eh most likely not. the provari was old tech from the get go btw. better parts and assembled well but VV has been around a while. Evolve actually puts cash into research and dev. the russian one is nice but if you have regulated power vv is just and extra bell to break. not to mention I am sure that the board quality will be a concern.

at that point it will be a question of quality versus price point, which is all it really ever comes down to. I think we are in for some neat changes to the structure of the market and how things are sold.

You and me both, the Russian piece is nice to though. Im still more centered on spending my cash in my country. If I can support american businesses I will.

Besides the Darwin has been around the block a few times by this point so the circuitry is proven, If we get near the quality of the internals in that mod, we will all be happy j-birds
