Sorry, I don't have answers for you, but...
It would be really tough to gauge the gauge of the wire. I'd say only the source of the wire knows.
For the resistance, that will vary even with a given number of wraps. Use a multimeter. If you don't have one, get one. Required equipment for rebuilding. Always check your coil before putting it on a PV.

I don't have the monstermesh, but I assume it's the same unit sold by several suppliers under various names. I have several of them. The wire that comes with them, I believe, is 32awg nichrome. I'm guessing 2.8ohms would require about 7 or 8 wraps.

Yep loving the Monster mesh, moved some coils a tad and I was set.
Think I'll change over to kanthal and try for a clear juice tank..

Yes The Monster mesh is a DID clone, would love to know if I can get some glass to fit from there as well.

Yes you can get the glass you desire from them. Just shoot them an email if you cant find it labeled on their site and Victoria will hit you back with the specs. They have infinite sizes that will fit just about anything. I have 2 for my full reg DID and they seem good. I've had 1 in for about a month. I have tipped the device over on my desk a few times and it has survived that 6in.ish smack.

Got mine in today. It wasn't fully oxidized but one quick hit with the lighter and then it worked. It is putting off plenty of vapor but I cant comment on the taste as I've never tried the flavor I'm using before.
