Ok.. I guess I should have been more clear.

I have never seen -----> Super T <----- do a custom order.............................................................

But I suppose you could always ask.

Yea, I don't know. That's why I threw the question out there. I'm new around here. You guys have a lot more experience with Super-T. :)

David,

My one request on the Strata is a through hole on the posts. The ability to thread the wire through the post when making coils greatly increases the ease of setup. Especially when building dual and quad coil setups.

I hope that perhaps the beta testers will agree and that this feature can be incorporated into the final Strata build.

Regardless, I will be placing my order today for a polished ELA Strata. I do not want to miss out on this innovation. I'm very very excited for this.

One last question. What style will the integrated drip tip be? I'm hoping for the shorty style myself.

this this this this this.... must have holes/slots in the posts!

I actually have to agree with you on this, but it will depend on whether the center post is male or female. The only way that structural integrity won't be compromised is to have eyelets in a male center post (similar to the Origen dripper eyelets). Like the other betas have said, we can't really say until we actually have the units in our hands.

Ease of setup is a piece of cake. Don't think in terms of what you know is out there now!

This has a flat deck when the outer posts are removed and there Is no feasible way to machine holes down below deck height. One could machine in some sort of raised post above deck by interpolating, but that would be way too cost prohibitive (on a unit that is already extremely timely and in depth to machine).

Heres what I do that makes it a piece of cake and i'll try to get up some pics.

-First, remove all the posts.

-When wrapping the coils, wrap a small loop on each end of the legs of the coil. Do not attempt to wrap a coil then wrap the coil legs around the screws.

-Starting with the outer post, put the wrapped loop over the removed stud post, invert or hold the strata sideways and screw the post and coil up in until not quite tight, then turn it upright, swing the other coil loop over the center post hole and screw in the center post.

It's really easy once you get the hang of it! No harder then a set screw and it allows you to cut down on the chamber height and you dont' have unsightly threads showing!

The beta testers will be Nach, Raqball, Vaptamist, Snork and Path77. To be fair, I just took the first 5 with units. Im counting on my testers to be active on these subforums to help people with their new Stratas. And yes, you get to keep them :)

OK testers I assume most of you know of the ins and outs of coil building.... So since the Strata will directly screw on as a top cap of my ELA I guess there is no way to test the ohms of a coil I build? I have an ohm tester but it requires that you screw the RBA into a 510 thread... So how will I know the ohms of a coil I build? Is the a chart or something that gives specs like use this kind of wire with this many wraps for a approx. ohms of the RBA atty? I will need help as I am a rookie in the coil building field....

David do I need to buy wire and wick to get started building the Strata? Will you be selling it or do I need to look elsewhere? So I have a Satin Strata coming for my Satin ELA....Now I am waiting on a Polished ELA to arrive.... I wonder if I need a Polished Strata to go along with it....? Your killing me SuperT:rolleyes:

The little black box ohm meter won't work for the reasons you stated but you can use a regular multimeter to test the ohms..

Step 1. Remove all posts. Wrap your coil leaving tails on each end ( I use a tension pin pressed into a piece of brass). Make tiny loops on the end of your coils and snip away the excess. (I wrap the end loops on the same pin I used to wrap the coils on).

Step 2. Put the coil loop around the outer post, hold the pin upside down/sidways so the coil doesn't fall off:

Step 3. Turn the Strata sideways or inverted and screw the outer post in with the coil on it, but don't tighten all the way. Swing the other loop over the center post screw hole and screw in the center post. You can now tighten them down and then bend the coil to where you want it exactly. If doing two or more coils, do the other outer one(s) first and swing them all over the middle screw hole and insert the center screw and tighten down

Dual coil example. I'd pack the back side with wick too and saturate with liquid (you can also run the coils on opposite sides too, you may find better distribution that way:
