I wonder how the performance will vary from the smaller P+ and SImplicity model to the larger/ wider ELA Strata? I would imagine the diameter of the Strata from 20mm to 24mm will make for a different experience?

If I'm not mistaken, David said the inner dimensions of the ELA Strata are the same as the rest, just thicker walls.

Can someone post a photo of their actual production Strata from the same angle? Just curious about something....

How did you catch that? :)

So the delrin insulator is pressed so that you can see it from both top and bottom? I can not tell on the top picture.

LOL, I just knew that Snork had a beta/ tester Strata. I did not know he had already received his actual bought Strata.

Cool, did not think think of the fact that the internal design would stay the same and the walls would be thicker to account for the diameter difference.

Thanks all for the replies. You are all great.:)

Hey Snork,

Thanks for the comforting answer, but unfortunately, unlike you I don't have many P+ satins to test n' attach the strata to... only one ... and from what I see, my finish looks pretty damn close from Ictrc's picture ... I might be wrong, or maybe the photo is misleading, but since my P+ is two tone, I wouldn't mind having a polished P+ strata attached to it (rather than two different satin finishes)

So, that being said, maybe I really need the maestro's input about the possibility to change the finish on my P+ strata order. David any chance on a last minute finish change ?

Thanks !

lctrc's P+ 18500's finish is on the lightest side. All my satins except for one are if the darker hue. Try not to fret.

On the p+ battery question, I'm using the longer efest 500s. Even with those, I am using all 3 washers and a very thick and somewhat thick oring. I don't think either oring came from David. I have miscellaneous orings all over the place. I have it pretty much where I like it, but I don't know if I could get it setup that way with the shorter AWs.

I understand what your saying. To me Ictrc's is the lightest I have ever seen. It almost looks polished.

Hey everyone,

Just a quick question : David how come the satin finish on the P + strata seems so far off from the P+ satin finish ? I know that the only way to have a perfect finish is to have the two parts prep'd simultaneously, but honestly I was somehow expecting something very close...

don't get me wrong, but the strata was supposed to be the one and perfect match for the P+. Now I'm not so sure... and wondering if the satin finish I chose from my two tone P+ was the right choice... maybe the polished would have been a better choice in the end... I didn't get shipping notice yet is it too late for a last minute finish change ?

Just let me know !

Thanks

It looked like your picture was a DIY finish from the Polished version. That is definitely NOT Super T satin!

Three washers doesn't work after all. The button bottoms out before making contact.

With less than 2 thick or 1 thick + 2 thin o-rings, the button also bottoms out before pushing the battery up to the top post to make contact.

With four washers I get a short (not sure how/why, but I do).

I'm not seeing a way an 18490 can be used with the Strata at all...
