Last night I got home and my Strata was waiting for me I was so excited!! So I opened it up, threw it on my P+ 18650, quickly built a coil, noticed that there was some battery wiggle, went to fire it and nothing.. I think I'm in the same situation with having to puzzle together washers and O-Rings to get it to work... I'm very disappointed considering I've had this P+ brand new for over 2 years and have NEVER used it, because I couldn't find a rebuildable that either worked at all due to no airflow, or didn't make a connection in the 510 connector.. I then promptly put the whole thing on the shelf and said screw it..

When I saw the Strata was coming out, I thought OMG FINALLY something that's gonna just WORK for this device, unfortunately I was let down, now reading about other's problems with trying to puzzle together some sort of way to make theirs work, i'm not quite sure what to do..

David what do you suggest we use to get it to work on our P+'s..?

I've identified the problem, the switch screw is too short to be able to add enough washers. Older Precise's prior to the locking button had a longer switch screw that you could add more washers to , but the newer ones with the locking button had a shorter screw that you could add 3-4 washers max too. A temporary fix will be a magnet on your battery (if anyone has a link to some small flat magnets they use, please feel free to share).

As a permanent, correct solution, i'll machine up some of the older style long switch contact screws for everyone who bought a PrecisePlus version and get them out to you as soon as I can with orings and washers, no charge. The correct set up should be approximately (depends on what brand IMR battery) 2 thick, 1 thin oring and 5-6 washers.

A closer look of what an ophion coil looks like... this is one of the first ophions I have built. The coil mimics a shank type heating element.

Nach has all the details on how to build the coil... he's working on the tutorial :)

Thanks David, that's great. As I noted, I'm doing okay with the longer efest button tops, but I've got a bunch of AWs that I could use too.
