ELA stratas need to come already. They're getting impatient

Not that it makes too bigger difference but do we at least have an ETA on the ELA strata? I have held my tongue on this as i knew it was going to be a long wait. I still cant believe David had the idea of 2 weeks for release of the Strata would be achievable, took everyone's money and then just took his sweet time. I am trying to follow this thread but also trying to avoid it as it can just become aggravating. Is the machining close to being finished at least? I know once the machining is done then there will be finishing then there will be the shipping notification followed by a long wait as the labels are printed well before postage is made.

So far there has only been 1 successful build on this dripper and this worries me - One can easily say the possibilities are endless in a dripper like this but if those possibilities are useless and vape poorly then technically a statement like that is just redundant.

There has been some great information supplied by the beta testers but honestly i was expecting just a few more positive builds on this one. I think it is time for the fan boy glasses to come off and for the honest and true opinions to be said.

I am still looking forward to the strata as i truly love the ELA and appreciate the work and machining gone into it - I am sure the strata will be machined perfectly but i have doubts as to its functionality and performance.

No shipping notice here yet. :)

Hopefully we get some word soon...I emailed Super-t yesterday, as I went back through all my emails, and couldn't find my order confirmation, and don't remember getting one. My bank shows my account was charged on 2/3 (for the Simplicity version), I just hope another week doesn't gone by with no word. I guess I wouldn't be as bothered had the Simplicity Strata been a pre-order deal with a rough time estimate...I was under the impression the whole point on not doing that was so they'd be sold/shipped when they were finished. It just seems like some of each are trickling out here and there, exactly what I thought wasn't going to happen.

I'm don't think it's accurate to say there has only been one successful build on the Strata. I think it's probably fair to say that generally the Strata doesn't create ridiculously huge vapor plumes unless you are particular about the setup or use some specific type of setup (e.g., the Ophion, or whatever). However, it's pretty easy to get a setup with great flavor, great throat hit and a normal/good amount of vapor. Several of the testers and other recipients have said that. If the quality of your vape is dependent on producing a white squall, then yes, you will probably need to be more particular with your build. Otherwise, the Strata works pretty darn well.

Top caps on the ELA Strata are done, squeezing in a batch of longer posts for the P+ stratas and then back to the bottom caps on Monday. Should have them done by weeks end.

It is completely untrue that there has only been one successful build, there have been many, some even stating its the best vape they've ever had. Also, it's gained ground that it won't do plumes of smoke, which is false, this misconception has come about due to the belief that you can just throw a build in that you are used to in another device and it will work the same in the Strata, it won't. Build a Ophion or modified Snork and you'll be blowing clouds.

The problem as I see it is, people have gotten so used to the same old with feeders, something new is throwing them off. Trust me, when rba's first came out, many people said the same negative things, but they learned and adapted, now something new has come along and its back to square one and yes, it takes some change. The Strata is much more efficient at atomizing and much more efficient at air distribution (and actually has an adjustable draw that truly works, not just goes for tight to loose instantly with nothing in between) and it rewrites the way things need to be done, but I guarantee, it will become your best vape ever with some patience.

Again, for plumes of vapor, this is with an Ophion build. Also, that could even be modified more for even more vapor by closing up the bends tighter for even more wick contact:

"You can also Try the new Ophion wrap suggested by Nach which is a real fog machine or a variation of the pic below , only splitting the wick in the middle leaving 4 wick tails (two on the ends and two coming out the middle, its a pita to do though) . Both these types better keep up with the feed demands and maximize coil area and take advantage of the 360 airflow potential:
Thanks to Nach... I had an opportunity to take a quick crack at the Strata and I have to say it is very promising. The 360 air flow is perfect for the Ophion as Nach suggested. Long story short, this happened... and he was right!

Here's the vapor production... Video

My conclusion... it has a lot of potential. If I'm given the chance to have a good sit and build time on it, I can build the perfect ophion coil on it (unlike the rush build shown above) and it will produce more vapor.

I'll be happy when the package arrives, and I can actually put it to use, rather on others' experiences. (I'll be sure to try others' successful builds, but I've had an idea for a coil that should take full advantage of the Strata in my head since it was first announced) that is part of the reason this wait is bothering me.

Are all the Simplicity Stratas (Strati?) completed? I'm hoping so, and if not that they'd take priority. I think there was a post from last week saying they should all be shipped in a day or two. Now it's Friday, and still no shipping notice.

I'm sure it'll be worth the wait- I'm on the list for a couple custom made knives, but I knew going in that it could be anywhere from 6 months to several years before my order came up. My frustration is the contradictory and sometimes completely inaccurate info posted here.

I love everything I own from Super-T, I haven't felt the need to buy any other mods(and I like new toys). I'd estimate that at least 95% of my posts on this site are in this subforum.

Just venting some steam-nothing personal. :)

Should be damn close, I just printed up another 30 ship labels yesterday that are going out. We're burning the candles from both ends to get these out. I'd say about one more week and we should have ALL P+ and Simplicity Stratas out as well as all TI 18500's and all Simplicity units. We are that close. I know it's a lot to ask after everyone has already been so patient, but we are almost there.

Since I got my Strata I've had three great builds, ranging from the exotic to the simple. I love it so much it's what I took to Phoenix. Just me, a Simplicity 18650 and a Strata. I didn't even bring extra underwear.

you don't need an xtra pair of underwear when you have these :)

You know this just popped into my head. It would be nice if we could get a clear top cap. I only suggest this just because if we could see air flow and vapor production it's quite possible to further optimize coil setups.

A small vacuume pump and some batteries and it's off to the races.

I don't think its fair to say that there's only been one successful build. Not at all.

I do think its fair to say that the Strata is not necessarily beginner-friendly. That a relative novice such as myself wasn't immediately and entirely successful says more about my lack of skill (or 'habits' heldover from other devices) than it says about the Strata.
