Yeah, it's probably stirring the pot for some, but reasonable people will see it for what it is, only an opinion. Plus it illustrates what I said in response to Draconians level headed post:

I think you've really made some good points. I believe your point that there are many coil setups for the kayfun too that would make it vape terrible is spot on. You can make bad coils that don't work for any rba/rda, but that doesn't make them bad rba/rdas, it's just not the proper coil for that particular rba/rda. The Strata is no different.

Extending that thought further, in the video, there is shown a single vertical inboard coil and it is shown how the plastic bottle produces more vapor the Strata top. Well of course it does, that isn't a coil well suited for the Strata's design, a single vertical coil inboard like that is well known to be suited for a side entrance so it should produce more vapor with that single hole side entrance cap. You can do the inverse as well, set up a great coil for the strata, that won't work as well with that side entrance hole.

I didn't want to make just the same old, anyone can do that. I wanted to step outside the box, make something that takes it in a new direction, something that has an integrated truly functioning air control and takes advantage of a 360 degree airflow but it's as though we're being punished for it not having a side hole like all the others and vaping well with X type of coil. I apologize to all the Strata fans for not being more on the ball about having some good tutorials up to get you started, I dropped the ball, but I'm also not going to stop trying to innovate and create new ways of doing things, it's who I am and what I do.

But beyond that, I don't really think there is much more to discuss. I've been chasing out trolls for two days now and it's really a waste of my time as I have units to ship! I'll do up my flow videos as soon as I can that actually use the Strata design and we can put it to rest.

So I've been getting some halfway decent coils with vapor without killing my throat but now my issue is wicking. I've tried mesh, cotton and silica none of them seems to be close to keeping up except cotton. I find the half circle dual coils are the best but I can't pull them off with cotton. Anyone figured out a way to wick half circle coils with cotton without destroying the coil or pinching the wicks so you get a spot of bare coil?

When I tried I pinched it tight enough to thread it then used a needle to fluff the wick back out. Seemed to work well enough.

I'll give that a try. Gonna try a long microcoil on a cotton bed. Think that might work well.

The original Nach-wrap would cover that, basically using two separate pieces of silica, and one piece of wire. It resembles sort of a vape swastika! But basically lets you put four legs of wick into the well.

Would it be a good thing to have the centre post as a two piece post so that vertical coils could be installed easier ie (higher up to eliminate a probable hot leg)?

I have some thoughts in regard to vortices about this but will have to wait until I get one at least, I guess. It has been so long a wait already.

Received my P+ Stratas yesterday Thank you. It is not an easy atomizer to build on. However I find vapour production satisfying and the flavour very good. I really like the feel of the draw on it. I am happy that I did not cancel my Ela Strata orders. With all the different and very strong opinions flying around about this atomizer, I am glad that I held off and tried it out to make my own mind and opinion up about it.
It does take a little bit of experimenting to find the coil positions that work right for you, but when you find the sweet spot it is a very good vape. It took me a few hours of trial and error to find something that worked for me, but that has been the same with nearly every atomizer I have bought.
Look forward to trying the Ela version thanks again.

And what did you find worked for you?

Just run of the mill dual micro coils and cotton mounted horizontally at 0.8 ohms. I kept the coils slightly above the deck and as close to the edge as possible without touching the side walls of the top cap.

During prototyping and beta testing, we actually had a taller center post with a shorter screw on helix post which would have suited you well. During the final run, I decided to go with the flush design of the center post and a longer helix but I can see where some would find a taller one advantageous to that coil style without having to extend your coil legs.

So I only have some 33 gauge and 36 gauge Nichrome around (and wick and cotton) - I usually go for a 1.4ohm build on the dripper I usually use. I don't have a meter handy...what kind of build should I go for? (didn't get around to it last night)

Where on the atty do you put the probes of your meter to measure the resistance of the Strata anyways (on my other attys I just use one of those resistance meters with a 510 connection)...

Are you a cloud chaser or flavor guy? Maybe start with a single coil to get your feet wet and then build a single or dual 360 degree coil if you like more vapor. I test the ohms as installed and put the probes right on the posts. You can also test at the bottom of positive post and one probe on outer base but there's no significant difference in reading.
