Crash, thanks for the video reviews - i agree with you about the 510 vs the 901 - i like the 901 better

i bought an iolite before i even got my first ecig the 510 but i haven't even tried the iolite yet - i guess i am kind of saving it to try regular tobacco in it

have you ever tried tobacco ?

i used to smoke unfiltered buglar roll my own tobacco and when the price went up - i started saving the butts - so now i have almost a whole can of left over tobacco shorts that are super heavy in tar and probably nicotine

i am thinking that the first time i try my iolite it will be with that left over tobacco

thanks again for the videos - i haven't had the guts to make one yet - maybe i will make one using my iolite and tobacco for the first time

I did try taking some tobacco out of a marlboro red once and putting it in there, doesn't taste the same as as cigg. Honestly I'm not much of a tobacco smoker anymore so maybe you would be better of doing the video?? but if you're feeling camera shy I can always do it myself. But yea putting tobacco in it is another thing people can explorer. There are so many different to use the iolite its crazy. Its got something to offer for everyone :) let me know about the video

Hi Guys, I was thinking of getting the iolite so I checked out the web site, one of the things I remember is the littke discs (I think thats what they were ) that come with the bag of extras can be used as a type of filler for e liquid, this might be worth trying rather than waitng for an atty to die! Buy the way the web site also has a very detailed vid of how th use cotton wool as a fiiler, I hope this helps with you iolite trials.:)

Yes the videos Tim has over at smokejuice are excellent, and by little discs i'm guessing you're referring to screens. We're still trying to come up with the perfect method to use e liquid with the iolite everyones opinions seem to differ, but hey thats life

My rolling tobacco didn't vape very well in Iolite. So far the winner for me is irish mist pipe tobacco. If I pack it tight and let it rest a minute between hits, it'll vape for a good 30 minutes or so after warm up. Gotta take really shallow puffs to keep from choking, but it definitely serves its purpose.
almost forgot, I have the center pin out, so the capacity is a bit higher.

What about mixing a bit of that with vegetable glycerin? I think i saw Tim doing something similar.

I half-heartedly tried that with rolling tobacco and pg. I basically just got flavorless vapor. Clearly I didn't let it set long enough to leech the flavor from the tobacco, so the pg just went up all at once and left the tobacco. A failure, but I started on pipe tobacco immediately after that and never looked back.

I'm thinking maybe I can soak some tobacco over night in VG, ya know like molasses, how they're a bit wet, and maybe vape that?? wonder what would happen :)

i finally tried some of my buglar tobacco in the iolite
tastes like a stale pipe when the tobacco is not fully burned

it gives more of a real cig feeling because you get more of the tobacco chemicals being vaporized

and all this time I was thinking we were trying to get away from chemicals :p
but anyway what was the vapor like?? did it put out alot of vapor?? and how long did the taste last??

heck no - no vapor at all - just hot air and stale tobacco flavor
the only thing ' good ' about it is that it taste more like a real cig
but it is really more like stale pipe tobacco sitting in an ashtray
you get a little bit more of the idea that you smoked but you really didn't
i definitely can feel the nicotine though
so in the case of someone who gets adverse reactions to some of the ejuice ingredients - this is a good way to stop smoking but still get the nicotine

the problem is there is no smoke and no vapor from just dry tobacco
so maybe a good idea is to try putting some pg or vg on it if you don't have any reactions to them

I've been trying to stay off tobacco for the most part, only have a puff or 2 when i'm out drinking and the ecigs get too complicated to deal with. But sure i'll break up a cigg and mix it in some vg an see what happens. I really do need the vapor to trick my brain, the nicotine itself doesn't cut it for me.

yeah - i know what you mean about trying to stay away from tobacco - so far i have not smoked even one puff of any analog

but just now i put into the iolite the remains of tobacco from one of my old non filtered analogs that i smoked about 2 months ago ( i saved the butts ) and woah - i got a little bit of vapor but i got a ton of tobacco flavor - strong flavor

what is weird is that it is using less than a quarter of a cig of tobacco but i get the effect of a whole cigarette and way less bad stuff

this potentially will allow 4 times the reduction of tobacco usage with thousands of times the reduction of toxins with no reduction of nicotine satisfaction

i would say it is worth the $250 - or $225 on ebay - even as just a backup to ecigs

or maybe for those times when someone feels like they just got to have an analog - they may be able to cope with vaping a pinch of tobacco

i don't really want to put any juice in my iolite yet - so i will wait for other people to experiment with vg or pg mixed with tobacco and see how that goes and maybe i will try it eventually

i have been having a lot of trouble with panic attacks when vaping ejuice - so i am glad that using this iolite with tobacco - i can get the nicotine in a cleaner way than smoking

maybe not as clean as an ecig - but i am not having any panic attack symptoms at all like i was getting with the ejuice

so far in the last few hours i have vaped tobacco in the iolite about 4 or 5 times and no panic attack symptoms at all

i guess eventually i will have to try the ejuice in it and see if the panic attack symptoms start up again - that may tell me if it is the ejuice in general or if it has to do with the temperature difference of the ecig and the iolite ...

Ed it sounds like the Iolite might be ideal for you when you do find your way with it.

I don't use the Iolite much, but I bought it as a back up if e-cigs get banned. I agree that putting a small amount of tobacco in it really gives one the nicotine they need and the taste (using fresh tobacco ;)) is fairly close to an anaolg. I like the idea of the PG or VG or glycerin put in to make it vape better. Have you done that yet Crash?

All in all, I am now glad I purchased the Iolite. Until this thread and all your work Crash and the advice from Julie and Frog I had felt I had more than likely wasted my money, now I don't feel that way!

Panic is part of the withdrawl from smoking. Besides nicotine is just one af a suite of chemicals in cigarettes we are addicted to, these chemicals interract with each other and this cocktail is far more addictive than nicotine alone. This is why many e-smokers and NRT users suffer panic attacks, the nicotine alone is not enough to overcome the withdrawl. The Iolite releases a bunch alkaloids besides nicotine. THIS THREAD explains it.

I feel that the transition from cigarettes or a pipe to the Iolite is a much easier one than switching to ecigs. I highly recommend using only organic tobacco (such as American Spirit) or even better grow your own.

My own tobacco plants are doing well :)

No Sharon I've been a bit lazy about it, I'm going to give it ago this weekend and do a video over it, all I have are analogs around my place that I don't smoke any more so I'm going to go buy some loose tobacco and use that. Maybe Golden Virginia because I've smoked that before and I like the taste of it.
