I have been following this thread diligently and am looking forward to getting one soon.
A few questions:
-what was the fully dead to completely charged time via USB?
-can you use a different micro usb cable to charge it? (e.g. my gs3 car charger?)
-I heard that (initially at least) the screws were hard to get out. Can you swap the battery on the go pretty easy after a few openings?
-I have read about the 'no passthrough', but is there any way to bypass it, and if not what do you risk damaging in the device if you use it while charging?

Thanks for any answers from you guys who own these already...quite jealous!

1. Most USB charge at .5a, so you're looking at 5-6hours for a VTC5
2. Yes
3. I've heard that just the first time is hard to untighten. Just screw and unscrew a little bit to work the threads and get any glue out if any.
4. It's recommended that you don't charge and vape simultaneously, I'm gonna stick with what's been suggested for now. Probably gonna attempt to replace the screws with magnets to make for ease of battery swap.

I want someone out there to figure out how to make a magnetic closure for the back of this mod so you can pop on and off with no trouble.

Greenleaf is adjusting the IPV2 to have FOUR screws on next model. Ugh. If they are that small it will be a pain in the ....

ALSO... FYI.... Jwraps and Vaporskins are both about to release a wrap for this new mod. It will keep it looking pretty but you would give up the ability open and change battery (unless they make it like the variant by vicious ant.)

I'm going to try. The video posted above of the Silver IPV at 5:31 shows that both the outer plate and the inner threaded area have a cut out, the outer to fit the screw head, and I have no idea why on the inner... but this should make for a much easier magnet conversion. I want to get some powerful neodymium's that fit perfectly in those little divots and just give them a dab of hot glue, hopefully not even having to drill out anything and void warranty. I'm thinking 3x1.5mm or 4x1.5mm should do the trick but I don't have the mod in hand so I don't have any measurements on that.

Anybody out there that can give measurements on the diameter of the cutout for the screw on the backplate?

shouldn't be that difficult use some small disc magnets, if the box layout permits you could find some that fit or just drill the screw holes out just enough for a fit on the box & the cover and superglue in some disc magnets, just an idea.

edit: the first link was just an example
here is a whole page to choose from

Those seem a bit weak for what you want it to do.

Probably. I'm working out the numbers now and if it were done with 3x1mm magnets it would be about a 64 gram pull resistance. It would likely work, but probably be annoying. Maybe 3x1mm magnets on the outer plate and drilling out threads internally for a longer magnet would be sufficient.

I guess is it possible they didn't have the shunt, or whatever simple switch, that stops charging battery when you operate the fire buttons?

That's the only logical reason I could see for this being the case.. but I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm on "the other side" of the electrical field.

I hope that can be sorted out, or is false. I got this mainly for when I'm sitting around, by a power source.

From where?

My tracking still says "electronic shipping info received". Since Wednesday.. anyone else from elev8vape's preorder have this? I'm all antsy...:)

Elev8 has a history of doing this. Nothing to panic about though. They just haven't gotten through processing at the local post office. It's actually a good sign. I think they package them up in many quantities. Then send them to the post office. IMO

Jeez... they must be doing well..
I'm order 5796..I wouldn't think they'd have many orders since the IPV2 that didn't include an ipv2 in the order..maybe they do. Not much of a selection though..popped different tobh colors before they got them in.. and must have gotten the magma around the same time..but not a very wide selection.
