Just ran across this thread (and am quite new to vaping)...but...why would one consider the ipv V2 50 Watt for $80-$109 when for $99.99 one could get a Sigelei 100 Watt Raptor Box? What am I missing?

Sigelei 100 Watt Raptor Box Mod Dual 18650 DNA30 DNA50 Killer Shipping Form USA | eBay

Good point , in actuality the iPV's are not proven , they are still relatively new and nobody has any data on how they will fare down the line so i think taking a chance with a dual battery 100 watter is not a bad move at all.

If you typically vape at higher wattage, even in the 40 or 50 watt range battery life becomes even more important. The iPV dual 18650 or Sig should be very popular.

For me the iPV2 is all I need. I did my homework on it as best I could and for my needs it is perfect. I never vape much over 20 watts and wanted a box mod after already having a vamo v5(tube). I also read on the 35 watt iPV and it seems the higher max wattage is better for the middle range vapors. I could be wrong but I'm completely happy with my purchase. It works great with my nautilus and I should be good to go with the kraken I am planning on getting so I can build my own coils again.

Well, by proven, I didn't mean it was proven to last X amount of time, I meant it has been proven to be a quality device that does what it states it will do. They haven't even finalized the design and functionality of the Segelei yet. No way I'm getting on a pre-order (and the ebay pre-order does not allow for cancellations) for a device that they're still trying to develop/design.

Yeah I personally don't see me needing over 50watts. I'm using an mvp2 right now. I want to get into rta's and maybe rda's and figured this would be great to work with.

As much as i love the MVP i realized that for RDA'S and dual coil builds with 28 gauge or lower a higher wattage device was going to be needed.

I wouldn't either and i don't follow that type of info so it's good you and others do .

Anyone else have this problem? I just got my Ipv2 and my positive pin doesn't screw all the way in. As a result nothing, and I mean nothing sits flush. My pin only screws down half way. Check my pictures, is the pin supposed to be threaded along it's whole length, because mine is not.

Mine came with two center pins and neither one is threaded along the whole length.
I really don't want to have to send this back because of this, if someone knows a fix please help.

Mine isn't threaded all the way down either but thats the way it's supposed to be , mine does go all the way to the bottom though.

Yeah mine definitely does not screw all the way down. I can't see anything in the threading but maybe it has a burr in there. I guess I will have to dig through my tools and see if I have a tap the correct size. It ticks me off because if they had actually taken the time to thread the positive pin in, instead of just tossing it in the box, they would have caught this issue.

Thats odd , mine came with the positive pin installed . Mine came with two quality control stickers , one taped on the mod and one was a card that was separate from the mod.

It does not sound like a deal breaker though and could probably be easily rectified , are the screw threads smooth ?

Yeah the screw threads are smooth, no burrs or rough edges. Mine had one positive pin just sitting in the 510, not screwed in, and a second positive pin in the little baggie with the 4 spare door screws and screwdriver. I have tried both and they screw down to the exact same spot(about half way).

Mine came packaged the exact same as all the rest, has the QC sticker in the battery compartment, and also had the QC card in the box.

Edit: Kayfun with micro coil 26G Kanthal 0.7ohm at 20 watts wicked with Rayon, bliss.

Edit2:After threading the screw in and out about a hundred times it is going in a little further now, still lot all the way tho. I will continue messing with it the rest of the day before I get the tap and die sets out.

Mine reads check atomizer if I fire it without anything connected

Oh OK , yeah i forgot i think mine came with a spare positive pin as well . I don't think you even need that pin in there , if you have some machine screw threads that are the same size and thread to the top your golden , if it's too long dremel a little off running a thin cutoff wheel .

I have just been threading it in and out tightening it as far as it goes. The majority of my atomizers are *almost* sitting flush now. It isn't really bothering me anymore now. It's much better than the 3ish+ mm gap I had before. Over time it will probably fix itself just with adjusting the screw.

I did it and paid full retail at a vapor B&M near me.

This thing is a complete Gamechanger for me!!!

The guy at the shop built a 1 ohm dual for my Stillare and I picked up a delrin cloud chaser drip tip. 50 watts is all I will ever need. Don't mind the single batt, the shop is gonna do a magnet switch out for the screws for me for $10 =)

Put my KFL on at 14 watts for my 28ga 1.3 ohm build and Wow.

Still like my MVP, but this wonderful device is now my go to vapor toy. Picked up 2 VCT 5's... on the charger now as I puff away on my VCT4.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this APV!!!
