Try with a block center post atty, that way you can still get dual coils with rock solid contact on each coil lead.

Just had it happen on my kayfun which is 1.4ohm. IPV decided for a sec it was actually closer to 3ohm.
Burning Rayon is still not tasty, even in a kayfun.

Well I got home last night and got started testing with the multimeter. I was hoping to find something so at the least I could limp it along as far as possible in the return process, or get really lucky and just have it be a fluke. Reality struck though, the multimeter basically confirmed the fatality, and after thinking on it, I have no desire to hack it up and rebuild it myself, I'd end up with a lot of time and money in it and no warranty for if something else happens down the road.

I considered tearing into it and fixing whatever the problem was myself, so I could write a guide for others to use down the road. But with this form factor, there's not a lot that I can do with it to bring it closer to my DIY mod I'm planning, which is an OKR10 chip with dual 18650s.

So warranty return it will be. It's one of the only devices I've bought from outside the U.S. and of course also the only device I've ever had to return lol.

As a sidenote, I will say that even though I had this problem, I like the mod and believe in it and what P4You are doing with it. I was considering getting a backup of it, but then had decided to wait for the 100 watt dual 18650 model. Now that this has happened I contacted on my vendors and will be purchasing another IPV2 from them.

So for those considering purchasing it, I would recommend the mod to friends and such, although I'd try to find one that wasn't from the first couple of batches. If nothing else, wait a couple of weeks until they ship out the next few big batches to vendors filling preorders.

Does twisted coils really provide better flavor , i can't see how but worth trying.

I wondered exactly the same thing. I might have never built them except I was out of my vape budget but wanted something new to tinker on, this hobby is like my relaxation, I like to put my feet up after a long 14 hour day at work, and either vape, or vape & build coils, test setups on new RDA's, etc while I watch some vaping youtube.

So anyway, wanting something to tinker with I got the drill out. I was actually surprised with the twisted coils, I was thinking total placebo, but it really is different, "better" is one of those subjective things, but its different on my setups in a noticeable way.

It seems to me like the parallel coil vapes like it sounds, more surface area, more of the same type of vapor. But twisted wire it's like the juice burns a bit differently and you get different flavor notes than with a regular microcoil and the vapor temp and density is different, like the juice stays to the coil more in all of those cracks and crevices, it's almost like little juice pockets that keep the coil more "drenched" than a regular or parallel micro coil.

Sorry that probably makes no sense lol, but in summary I can tell a difference the way I vape at least and with my setups, mileage probably varies quite a bit with different peoples vape method and different power settings if I had to guess.

That being said, I make twisted coils when I have plenty of time and want something more tinkerish to do. 95% of the time I wrap a micro coil or parallel coil because the difference is noticable but small compared to the time and effort it takes to twist the wire and wrap it and all that business, once you're used to knocking out micro coils in seconds.

Im still waiting on mine! Congrats tho!

They haven't posted an update on the site yet, but I guess from this it looks like they received their shipment and have started sending out the remaining preorders.

Also, it looks like Elev8 has removed the discount code and is charging $109.99 for the IPV2 again (for now?)

Twisted wires are sweet in the sense that they heat up faster and hotter than a single kanthal of the same resistance per length. I personally don't find much difference in flavor, but throathit always seem stronger.

Oh um. I don't wanna hijack this thread, but I haz a blog post for that. It's titled chimney build for kayfun or something to that effect. It has a pretty nice step by step pictorial :)

Eta: I find that it works exceedingly well for pure VG juice. I vape Boba's bounty exclusively on the vertical build, and I get the densest and wettest vape. Delicious.

Oh no , i was on the iPV III 100 watt forum and i think some may want to read what i was just told by another member who does facebook in regards to P4U , not saying it's true but worth mentioning.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. I'm still undergoing the warranty claim process, I bought from a vendor that hasn't been in all this drama though, and will keep you guys updated. There's a lot of feathers getting ruffled and in my opinion I think a lot of it is all for nothing so far. I say this as someone who paid a discounted price and has a failed device, just disclaiming before the "you'll feel differently if it's your device" posts

Until someone has P4U deny their warranty claim I wouldn't let it be a stress factor too much. We'll see what happens, but one of the users that's really been trying to stir the pot for I'm not sure why, has a post history of what I would call agitating. I'm one that likes to see something rejected before worrying over milk that hasn't spilled yet, then I get my pitchfork.

Also, many of the members sharing the information are good as gold and just sharing info with no ill intent, wanted it to be known that I'm not grouping everyone in the agitator group. I totally agree P4U needs to take a firm stance, but I'm guessing the right arm isn't communicating with the left one as we say in the South and see a lot with our customers. An engineer will send me a drawing, and the next day a different engineer will tell me "Really, nobody could be dumb enough to put that on a blueprint and stamp it. You sure he works here?"

On another note, I just found four rolls of ribbon Kanthal last night that I bought to twist, it arrived the day before I went on vacation. I have a new RDA on the way, and i really wish I had something to fire a nice twisted coil, it's too heavy a gauge for my other mods I think.

The good news is, I have a vendor that's offered to hold a device for me until my next paycheck since my device failed right after they closed orders on a group buy. So if I decide to buy a 2nd device and have my warranty replacement for backup, I might be back boosting low ohms in about a week.

Elev8vape have stated that they will take care of handling the 12 month warranty of any IPV2 units purchased from them.

I'm not sweating it at all actually as i ordered one from Eciggity in late July and got it a few days later and it seems to be working well .

I just happened to come upon a couple posts by a young lady that were made this afternoon saying that P4U's facebook's page was showing non coverage for devices bought through a certain vendor and i immediately said i think thats bogus .

I don't do facebook so i certainly can't verify anything but she was clearly not happy about it. Like you said , no sense in blowing a gasket , Elev8 said they will take care of all after care issues so you won't have to deal with P4U. Whether thats a good thing or bad thing is yet to be determined of course.

I hope you get your situation straightened out , what a bummer .

Funny. Here's the issue. We know that p4u has a multitude of different "sales rep"

If you look at each of the various p4u or green leaf Facebook pages, it's immediately obvious that each page is run by 1 or 2 specific sales rep. I don't think there's a single one that's an official p4u Facebook page.

I'm not sure each of these reps will necessarily be telling the absolute truth. Of course they could be, but yeah I think there's nothing absolute or conclusive so far.

In any case, seems like elev8 has been consistently proving the naysayers wrong. so I wouldn't fret.

Great news for all us on the "Awaiting Fulfillment" status from elev8 !

*Update @ 9:54PM EST 8/12: iPVs have been shipping since last night up until now with many more to go out. Theres enough for old and new orders."

If that pic is from Elev8 i am surprised they feel the need to post it , i don't think anybody thinks that they have been stiffed and will never see the iPV they paid for in this lifetime, is it really necessary to show proof lol. People know they will get it .

Grin. I think they felt the need to show it, especially after the last debacle. In fact a lot of people on Facebook and ECF were pretty much saying "once they post the pictures of their stocks, it'll put all rumors to rest". Kinda like "HA TOLD YA SO"

Plus it'll probably help allay the fears of those who were possibly considering buying from them but were worried?

Dunno.
