Yes, the GG is mechanical... but OH so sexy! I like sexy.

ProVari doesn't get 4G?!?! That's unfortunate.

Yes, I agree, they are nice. So are the Caravellas, and a lot of others I lust after over at vape porn. :D

I've had mine for almost a week now, and I do like it a whole lot. But honestly, right now my mechanicals are seeing more use not because I don't like the Provari (I couldn't be happier with it), but simply because with my current setups they work better for on the go. But, that will most likely change when my DID arrives. :D

Just for the sake of clarity, I believe the V2 will carry you up to 5.2v on a 1.5ohm atty or carto. I use 1.5's and run them at 4.2. That's warm enough for me (and some have said I'm crazy for even that much). I (obviously) disagree
Thanks, I probably shouldn't have pulled 1.5 ohm at 5 volts out of thin air but it was only because I never hit the limitation - the ProVari does anything *I* want it to do.

This thread is really tempting me to buy another...I had a white Mini with a blue LED in my cart last night. Winter's coming, you know.

Yeah, I've always took slight exception to the statement that it will do whatever you want it to. "...within reason" should always be added to the equation.

Kinda/sorta similar to my wife, in that regard.

Only shortcomings on the Provari for me at least is the button. Sometimes I can be pressing it and it is firing but if I unconsciously let up slightly on the pressure the led stays lit but the device will stop firing. Maybe that is just my unit, but it is far from a deal breaker. It's great for just about every RBA I have tried on it and I love the ohm reading ability. Plus, the new v2 Provari has Bluetooth 2.0, so connectivity with my other wireless devices is a breeze! :matrix::matrix::matrix:

Mine refuses to wash my car or do my laundry...it's absurd really.

Also, when I dropped it on hard ceramic tile it didn't bounce right back up into my hand---I actually had to bend over to pick it up.

In all seriousness...when you buy the Provari and hold it in your hand, when you use it...you will definitely feel like you got your moneys worth. Now I'm not saying everyone should shell out a ton of money they don't have, but if you're looking to spend it on a PV then you will not be disappointed with the Provari.

I would love it if had variable wattage and the variable voltage it already has. The one button menu system works well but can get a bit tiresome at times. That would be the closest thing to a knock I could throw at it.

Mainly tho it works and it works perfectly...every...single...time! and that all by itself in this industry is worth the hype IMO

+1- If there is anything I would fault it is the one-button menu system. I may be a bit clumsy, but find I pass the desire place to make changes every so often. You also have to wait a bit after adjusting the voltage before the LED clears and you can use it at the new level of voltage. I have messed that up and pushed the button too early and changed it more either up or down than I wanted. Otherwise, the thing is built like a tank and easy to maintain and use. I would but it again without any hesitation.

I'm about to take the plunge, but I have a question about the finish ... I think the media-blasted model (Satin Silver) looks nice, but I see the Satin Black is available for a $20 premium. I've heard several reviewers rave about the black finish, describing it as "rubbery, grippy" ... is it really all that, or is it just a powder-coat finish, or what? And is it worth the premium (apart from the subjective issue of color for color's sake; I note that all the colors other than the SS and the Gold  are +$20)?

The only negative about the Provari is the amperage cutoff and that only comes into play with Dual Coil Cartos. I am not even sure that the LR is the major point of it, just Dual Coil LR. Those things to get the best flavor are designed to be run at like 4-5 amps, lol. I can not see running a 1.5ohm atomizer near 5 volts. Not sure who would like that. The juice would be cooking so much, you would have to drip almost every inhale, lol.
For what I use the Provari for, I have had 0 issues. Dual Coil cartos are not that important to me. I think that might be one of the reasons why Provape is selling single coil long pre holed cartos on their site. It is a good move, that way, you can still get the cartos with things like the Map tank or DCT.

This is my experience and opinion:
The black satin is pretty but it has started to wear already on my newish black mini. I don't treat my PVs with kid gloves so I expected it, not that I'm happy about it. It is slightly grippier than the satin.
You can't go wrong with the satin silver. The old one I have looks practically new and it has seen some pretty good times.

Thanks, Snork! Exactly the sort of end-user feedback I was looking for! Looks like the Satin Silver for me. If it's anything like the media-blasted finish on my Legacy, it'll be a good feeling, nice-looking finish. Out of curiosity, what would you say the black finish actually is? On the Provape site, they describe it as "a durable ceramic finish", but that tells me nothing.

Sorry, I have no expertise in telling what the finish is. But I can say that if you take it to work for awhile with it in your pocket which also has whatever kind of stuff you have in your pocket usually, you can expect some damage. I'm not knocking its durability, it's just the facts of life.

Thanks, Snork. Oooo ... you've got the little mini! So cool looking ... the little teardrop pattern on the body is really great graphic/industrial design.

OK, off to buy a SS Provari with 18650 extension cap. And then, the day after my order ships, Provape will announce their new Variable Wattage model ...

I've have read that the black has some kind of coat that tastes about 6 weeks to fully cure, and that as long as you keep it mint for that time period, it will be an extremely difficult finish to mar up.
Could be, but wouldn't it be extremely difficult to let a ProVari steep for six weeks? :)

V2 does not go to 5.2v on a DCC I could only get them to go 4.2-4.5 depending on manufacturer
