Hi guys... First post here :2cool:

I've been vaping for approx. 2 weeks and I'm loving it... I'm still smoking a few analogs a day, but it's nothing compared to what I used to do...

I've been reading a lot here on the forum, and it seems that people in general agree that cartomizers are better than atomizers.

Why is this?

PS. I'm vaping on an eGO 510

First- I am not a cartomizer fan.
But I will explain why and why I would like to be, which I think is why so many people ARE.

I like the idea:
Intended to be disposable, but they can be re-filled- Cheaper atomizers that CAN be re-used although they may not last as long as a regular, more expensive atomizer.
Also one fewer parts required: 2 pieces instead of 3.

What I don't like is that I can ALWAYS taste the fill material. There are others like me and perhaps we just are more sensitive to it or hit on our PVs harder than others. Whatever, the addition of the burnt taste from poly fill does not improve the tatse of the vapor. ;)

Cartomizers work awesome for me, however some of my flavors just taste better dripping. I would never completely give up dripping, but cartomizers have been great, as the ones I use hold about 50 drops on first fill, and about 35 drops on subsequent fills.

They are still working out the bugs in the designs of the ones I use (Ce2 rev 4)

I hear they are coming out with, or have come out with new ones that are clear. Filling them is a bit of a pain, but as long as I fill a few at a time, Those 4 will last me 2-3 days of heavy vaping.

For me, most of the fruit flavors taste awesome in a cartomizer. My favorite in a cartomzer right now is Tasty Vapor Black Licorice. The cartomizers are somewhat disposable, so a properly cared for atomizer will be more economical in the long run.

I had to laugh at the thread title... lol
Anyways, that aside... Cartomizers are more prone to bad tastes due to the high likelyhood of burning, and the short lifespan. Although they are disposable, and yes everyone knows that- they start tasting rather funky at the end of day 3. There's not much of a point to using them after the third day. Atomizers can last forever if you take good care of them (I'm right at 8 months now with my first atomizers ever and the rest are 5 months and counting except for the new ones I just got) So, I'm a big atomizer fan. I just don't see the point in buying something that will only last 3 days even if it is meant to be disposable. Cartomizers may be more convenient but definitely cost more in the long run.

I use cartomizers for convenience when I'm on the go. It holds a LOT more liquid than the old cartridges and as long as you don't let it run too dry it works like a champ. It beats the old atomizer/cartridge system hands down. That said, when I'm home and relaxing, I prefer to drip. That's where the atomizer comes in. Flavors, vapor and the all around experience is best when dripping. That's been my experience.

Cartomizers weren't around when I started vaping. The old atomizer/cartridge combination pretty much sucked as the capacity of the carts was small (constant topping off) and liquid doesn't wick from the cart to the atomizer nearly as well as the mechanics of cartomizers allow.
