Show me better... LOL this guy. I don't so twisted wire, but I'll wrap dual 26g tri coil for you when I get home from work

EDIT how is that cool not shorting? It looks to be well over the lip of the base

Nickel isn't even the same thing and I can show you near perfect coils with Kanthal. My spacing on this nickel build may not be up to your internet superiority standards but it hits great. And the coil is not over the lip. coils on the Aeolus sit high for the vertical airflow and what you are seeing is from the camera angle. And unlike other rda's, the top cap of this doesn't come in contact with the coil area. Because of the design, I can get away with a couple extra wraps.

yep except that competition is gonna blow the peace of a few reo owners and make squonking mainstream, chinese are producing regulated squonkers, coming on the market like, right now

Reo stopped making regulated mods a while back. Whether they start making them again is anybody's guess. They show up every now and then in the classies.

You don't have to be so defensive man. I'm simply stating that the coil is sloppy, which it clearly is. This is not a personal attack.

Pro tip, next time put whatever you wrap with in your drill and give it a teeeeeeny bit of throttle while holding the wire taught with your hand. It'll give you a much cleaner build.

The reg hammer has the potential to make dripping the preferred method for many by default. I have a half dozen decent rda's that I don't use anymore. I'm not even using my kayfuns much anymore. I've gotten lazy. I can get a good vape out of dual coil tanks and I don't really care about the cost. I go through 1 head a week. $4-5/mo doesn't really dent my budget and it's so easy to switch a head. If all that goes away, I'll go right back to rda's and rta's.

If innovation is allowed to stay in the market I can envision some incredible directions vaping can go in. Like a chip controlled device that uses micro injection into a chamber that mixes nic and flavor separately so you can dial strength of both with each vape. Multiple coils that can be fired in any configuration. No wick and self cleaning. Full control of nic strength, flavor strength, volume of vapor, and temperature of the vape with built in protection from burning the juice. A relatively inexpensive coil pack that can last a month or months.

Sorry I got defensive then. I'm just new to Ni200 and working with it makes me want a 6 pack of Valium after. And thank you for the tip.

If you get an enjoyable vape from a coil, then it doesn't matter what it looks like. You're new to Ni200 and your builds will only get better. These self-proclaimed "Pros"/experts" forget that their opinions are "bias" preferences and NOT facts.

Lol
Well, the hottest new tanks all claim to produce flavor and vapor "just like an RDA!" ........I'd say nope.

RDAs set the bar for performance, and keep raising it.

Tanks only offer convenience, and a minor one at that, however they usually lack in the performance dept.
They are getting better, but they aren't even equal as of yet.

For some people, the small inconvenience of dripping is worth the added performance.

edited to add:
some genesia attys DO perform as well as an RDA, however they aren't as popular with the inexperienced vape crowd because of the learning curve required to master them.

Can't help but bring my own high horse to this high-horse showdown. :D

If squonking is dripping without the dripping...

Wicking is like squonking without the squonking.

(Not to be taken too seriously. If anyone threw a Reo at me - I'd squonk it. I'm just envious cause no one built a Reo-like setup where squonk and bottom feeding is replaced by a gennie deck.)

People really feel the need to make fun of someone else's coils? Good lord. Nickel is a pain and the last time I checked, performance means more than appearance. What a silly little comment that was.
Off topic....the Aeolus is amazing. I liked mine so much, I bought the copper one too. And before someone says it, the inside is stainless steel.

You sir, have an incredibly awesome idea.
I would buy a bottom feeder today if I could find such an atty.

Just curious, when you say a gennie deck, are you simply referring to using a mesh wick rather than cotton, silica, etc.?

I'm certain there are at least 2 people on the REO subforum who do build their atties using mesh (I've seen pics) so I was just curious.

I've seen people build their bottom feeders with mesh. That's the closest thing to a selling argument for me. Just haven't been able to pull the trigger as I'm happy with what I got. I already have drippers set up with mesh - so a Reo (with import taxes and fees) would be one expensive way of getting more or less the same end result. I have no problems seeing why they have such a dedicated following tho. Seems to me the two most content groups of vapers seem to be gennie and Reo users.

I am literally thinking of a pyrex tube where the bottle in a Reo sits. With a removable gennie deck on top to hold a mesh wick. Or, in a perfect world where I could make some - or have some made - with no money concerns; I'd make one with different decks available. One for mesh wicks. One for auto-drippers with bigger wick holes. And possibly one with a submersible Kayfun-ish chamber.

The Kato comes close... but it still wastes a whole lot of space on housing an ordinary atty instead of going the full mile. Reminds me I want one of those. But my next vaping purchase will be a big tank DID.
