Oh, but we had so much fun! And now that stupid FDA is about to pull the rug out from under our feet. Shame.
I will have to get up to speed on what the FDA are doing over there. We have the stupid TPD rules about Nic and bottles sizes as well as limited tank sizes to 2ml.

Our regulations are not that stupid if you'll compare to the US ones :nun:

    I agree with you...for now.

Dark threat looms in the horizon, overtaxation (probably on nic) is something that will probably happen.

Government isn't going to stand by while they lose revenue due to the drop in sales of cigarettes.

I have better hopes for the UK Vape market as UK govt seems to understand the importance of switching + our insurance system is not as corrupted as the US one.

Maybe that is true when it comes to the UK,but the government in Spain?

Yeah i never overestimate the stupidity and ignorance of our government so the situation i described before? yep, that's happening in a near future.

I can imagine. At least in the UK our government seems to follow the guidelines of the BMA and agree that its 95% safe than smoking.
I get a little confused with the USA because of the different laws between each state.

I always find it so frustrating that these governments are so quick to condem vaping when there is so much evidence to say it's far safer than smoking.
This is where it can only be corruption on the part of each government.

    Yep exactly my thought.

Makes me wonder thou,in the near future what will the government use as an excuse when they are asked about the overtaxation on nicotine.

Here at least in Spain when they government has been asked: why so many taxes on cigarettes?
The answer was quite realistic, smoking gets people sick so the taxes make up for that extra work that the healthcare system gets due to smokers.

But what about nicotine? Doesn't make people sick and it saves money when it comes to public healthcare.

Less people sick=less money spent on them because they won't use healthcare that often.

A good and smart government (Sorry, oxymoron i know...smart/good and government never go together in the same sentence) should provide nicotine for free.

Can't give out mods or aromas for free but nicotine? yeah they should
subsidize the hell out of nicotine.

Smoker goes to see his doctor and the doctor then lays down the various choices he has to quit smoking,if he chooses vaping then nicotine is free.

But then again I'm giving our government to much credit, they will tax us to death thinking we are stupid and that we don't know any better...

You hit the nail on the head when you said they think we are stupid and dont know any better.
Everything I've read about the reasons different countries are trying or have banned vaping are simply absurd. Such as teen vaping, far better for a teen to vape than to smoke. Unclear risks of vaping, we know the risks but again far less risk than smoking.
The excuses they use are nothing other that a mask from the real issue of overwhelming corruption.

The internet in general is a sometimes dangerous distraction. Many times i've had to swerve around pedestrians who are crossing the street by stepping off the pavement, into the road, right in front of me, whilst they appear to be staring at the palm of their hand the entire time. So i shake my head at them, and they look at me like i'm the one who is doing something wrong.
Although pedestrians have that attitude towards cyclists anyway. They see no danger from a cyclist so they cross, i swerve, then i get run over by the car coming from behind.

If you can relate to this as a pedestrian and a mobile ECF user "PLEASE WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING IN FUTURE".

That's where a dash camera could come in handy. You never know when someone's going to walk right out in front of you and commit unintended suicide.

Fun fact: I already know how to churn butter. Dude I like my green shoes.

I don't think ECF is gonna die although it is ALSO ironic that everyone is coming out of the woodwork and saying it won't.

I will say this everything is born to die, even forums unfortunately. If you got some peeps you love, well get another way of contacting them. But, I doubt this forum would die without adequate notice if it does at all. Seems unlikely. We have flavorers ready to share their creations for years to come etc. It's all gonna be good.

It will stay up as long as there are enough supporting members. Of course, sidebar ads all over the place could replace that, but I like the clean style of ECF ... uncluttered.

Well to bring this back to the original topic . . . Is ECF Dying? . . . A question for old timers and "Newbies'/"NooBs' and all of those in-between too . . . Outside of any and all politics/political rhetoric, Federal/Country Regulations, Perceived future Taxes, etc. . . . What do you see as the future of ECF (a public world forum) ? What would do you think will keep it active and keep it relevant for "Us" ? Opinions - Suggestions - Rants - Raves . . . . all a like, including bringing back those who have left or just lurking and keep those currently here or just lurking more active ?

And i gave up cycling in the rain about 2 years ago. I just won't do it anymore.

I do my bike rides upstairs in my man cave. There's a PC with internet, a flat screen on the wall for video, A Weslo Pro Bike, free weights, a Total Gym, and air conditioning. Oh, and temporary solitude. :)

If it is making money for Oliver, it will live. When it fails in that mission, it will die.

    NOT NICE

Can't one conversation be without snide or snarky or "toung-in-cheek" sarcastic remarks and allow people to voice their opinions . . . Come on, give it a break . . . Go back "OUTSIDE" to play . . . Just Sayin' . . .

I joined ECF in early 2010 when it was a text based board. No graphics and little in the way of glitter. Still, it was informative and I learned all that I needed to know about vaping.

Joye 510 and Kanger KR808 were king. Ego followed soon after. Kanger 808 and eGo were liquid reservoir types and the Joye 510 was a cig-a-like. You pulled off the filter end and dripped drops into it that would last about 15 minutes of vaping.

I believe vaping is an ever-changing world and that, worldwide, ECF will always be a useful tool for all of us.

While there's some stagnation while we wait out the FDA and find out what's going to happen in the U.S., there are other places in the world that have already settled into their norm with vaping, and there will always be new people to introduce to vaping, regardless of what happens in one country or another.

Even in the U.S. there will be some products to be had, even after deeming, and once we see what those are there will be much to teach and to do... it's a matter of knowing how we will be working around laws etc

Even if people have to DIY zero nicotine ejuice for the hand to mouth aspect of quitting smoking, and purchase nicotine gum for their nic, vaping will continue to remain a useful tool to get people away from smoking and in turn, ECF a useful tool to spread the message and help others in need.
