safe distance from a black hole
What exactly is a ''facebook style post'' as far as i know facebook hasn't invented nor patented a style.
Whatever you think the facebook ''style'' is it was probably done back in the years BC (before Christ) and with less lols, wuts and roflcopters.

Some of us hate facebook (and other social media) for what it represents, the need to share their life with strangers, the need to feel superior and the need to think that everyone is just waiting for you to post a pic of what you having for lunch.
Less with the "less with the". Thats really a fb type stance you are taking there.
You obviously cant see the similarities between ecf and fb. Cool. No point you and I continuing this.
Cheers.

Not for me,july and august are the worst months here, like really hot.

Won't start getting some cooler temperatures until October...at least, that is when autumn starts.

I miss winter, cozy with a blanket on the sofa with a nice hot tea and just watching a Hallmark movie.
Yeah there i said it,I ENJOY HALLMARK ROMANTIC MOVIES...sometimes you just get tired of John Wick shooting everyone because they killed his dog.

We all need feel good movies with no brain matter splatter,or is that just me? :D

We do need to watch a feel good movie, we may vary in our tastes in what constitutes 'feel good'. Without that variation in taste we would live in a dull gray world.

Where I live we had a massive ice storm several years ago. I had no power for seventeen days, Mrs CMD and our daughter went to a motel about fifty miles away, I stayed to see to the safety of the house and begin a massive clean up. Me, a chain saw, a small generator and a gas fire place, I have never been quite so cold, miserable and rather lonely. I vowed to never complain about heat again, unlike my many vows to quit smoking, I have kept that vow.

Social media as a whole (aka Facebook and Twitter style sites) came with a short attention span style of posting, I do agree.

ATS (www.abovetopsecret.com) used to have well thought out, well researched threads in the political realm that sparked intelligent yet vigorous discussions once upon a time, but the advent of Facebook and the entirely different style of posting associated with short attention spans changed all that used to be so great back in the day...

However, as this site isn't a political or otherwise forum, there isn't much debate, insight or thoughtfulness going on... it's vaping... theres only so much to say...

Yep,agree 100%.

Each time i see TLDR it makes me want to bend over, grasp my knees and assume a fetal position on the floor while crying.

Now when you type more than 140 characters they will disregard it,like if reading is a chore.
Wall of text? more like you're lazy and you refuse to read a couple paragraphs.

And now it's even worst with emojis,at least before they used words albeit they switched what to wut but ok it could be worst but now we have things like this:

I have no idea what all that means,do i need to go to university and study Egyptian Hieroglyphic Writing?

Instant gratification thru the small screen of your phone, problem is if you rely on your phone for social interactions you actually forget or never learn how to interact with another human being in person.

Previous girlfriend (was with her for 2 years) bought me a total of 4 smartphones,1 for each birthday and one for Christmas).
She had to return all 4 of them, she complained that she couldn't get in touch with me,i said sure you can, look for my name...press the green key and call me!!
Not spending 2 hours texting like a teenager and talking about nothing because before you actually talked hence you needed to give and take content...now it's just about the viral videos,a picture of your lunch or you taking a selfie.

I have yet to understand attraction of the text message. Now feature this, you are a divorced or divorcing couple with a child in common (somewhat of a rarity these days). You disagree about something concerning the child, could be anything big, small or irrelevant, but your chosen method of communication with the other parent is the text message. How long before that goes to hell in a hand basket?

Facebook has become a very fertile source of evidence in custody/parenting time contests. Lawyers mine it and frequently hit pure evidentiary gold. It is beyond my wildest imagination what pictorial and textual insanity people will post on their page.

Both are beyond the comprehension of a rational person.

The internet in general is a sometimes dangerous distraction. Many times i've had to swerve around pedestrians who are crossing the street by stepping off the pavement, into the road, right in front of me, whilst they appear to be staring at the palm of their hand the entire time. So i shake my head at them, and they look at me like i'm the one who is doing something wrong.
Although pedestrians have that attitude towards cyclists anyway. They see no danger from a cyclist so they cross, i swerve, then i get run over by the car coming from behind.

If you can relate to this as a pedestrian and a mobile ECF user "PLEASE WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING IN FUTURE".

I am uncertain if the ECF is dying but it appears certain dedicated uses may be.

Well I agree and like every post in this (so far 6 page) thread, but I will say this: I have a love/hate relationship with FB. Mostly hate. The only reason I signed up for it is to stay in touch with some long distance friends and family who seem to prefer that platform over email and the phone. I use F.B. Purity - Clean Up + Customize Facebook to trim down all the crap that is on that platform. I do find the FB Messenger program to be useful when I have a few words to say to someone, mostly to tell my roommate to pick up more TP or milk or something.

I hope not. I tend to believe it’s the lack of any real new technology and that people just aren’t buying or are as interested in talking about vaping atm with so many people worried about paying their rent or mortgage or feeding their families.

Everything in life goes thru ebbs and flows. I’ve checked some of the other smaller forums and REALLY not much is going on at those.

Plus as someone mentioned some threads are more popular than others. A lot of us post about our new gear on the Shiny thread when maybe it should be posted also on the RBA thread etc ...

I log in daily but rarely post - i prefer to lurk unless i've had a drink or two. Or unless someone posts something i disagree with and i can raise the effort to respond. Or unless i'm bored. Or unless i feel chatty...
ECF isn't really about vaping for me anymore, it's just a way of connecting. I guess i could find a different forum but i feel a part of this one.
Sort of feeling half chatty tonight - hence this post :p
