I'm on another forum which is experiencing the same loss of activity. Maybe the world is changing. Probably is, and I do not like it.

Everyone is probably just running around in RL trying to kill each other... lol.

For the rest of us? It's just summer. It's usually like this when good weather hits, and after months cooped up from the dreaded plague I'm sure everyone is just finding their way out of doors more than usual lately..

since thanks to the government my country is now one of the world's biggest parias, nobody wants Brazilians or airplanes with Brazilians coming and going from its territories

What on earth? Lol..

That sounds dreadful, what's going on in Brazil? I've not heard anything, but "news" outlets don't show us news anymore...

I'm the opposite, I hate summer and the heat, I stay in as much as I can, can't wait for winter :D

I turned down the airconditioner yesterday and woke up this morning to my son wearing a winter jacket... haha

I don't like excessive heat myself but we've actually had a fairly mild year so far where I'm at, it's only now getting warmer than spring like temperatures..

It's terrible here already, we've been hitting 100's already and got 6 days over 100 next week, my air con can hardly keep up.

I think he's talking about the fact that they're easing restrictions, but their death rate is on the rise:

Funny, you wouldn't know US death rate has plummeted from reading our "news." It's hardly even mentioned that CDC was recently caught- they've been increasing the case count by mixing positive case tests with antibody tests (without telling anyone), artificially keeping the case count dramatically higher, even though states are relying on the data to make decisions.

Sorry about being off topic- just answering a question (with an additional comment).

Yes, my friend. 2nd country with most cases in the world, 2nd or 3rd with most deaths, and the president keep saying this is just a "little sneeze" we don't need to worry about. The main concern is to save economy, which only can be achieved by refusing to respect quarantine, which that man itself does every single week. But he doesn't have nothing to fear, as he has "athlete curriculum" so he would survive to the virus easily...

Just some insights about what's going on in this country, a country that even Trump (yes, Trump!) cited as a bad example in coronavirus fight matters. Yes, again... Trump!

    That's it [emoji853]

    Sorry for the off-topic (x2)

Well, we could go dark I guess and figure out how to enthusiastically purchase and obtain through the grey/'back market but yes, perhaps ECF could become a land of the grey/black market.

This is kind of the only way for hobby vaping to survive.

If you want to keep vaping and you are not brand new and do not know how to DIY and RTA and etc., the time and place is exactly NOW.

But most new vapers may not even know that yet. Or are "fine" with the chemical filled tobacco cartridges to shove in their pod.

It's harm reduction but still, depressing harm reduction if you ask me..
Vaping will continue/return of this I have some confidence I just don't know when.

I think that a lot of folks interested or starting vaping are not really aware of ECF, and they're also not aware that it isn't a hostile forum like POV.

I mean that POV has a lot of trolls that are extremely hostile to new members, even those that have been vaping for some time and have picked up some decent knowledge and good ideas. And all they're looking for is good discourse and exchange of ideas, not wanting to get into flaming arguments with trolls who have the biased belief that they're always right and therefore everyone else must be wrong.

That's not a good environment for learning, or making sure that folks can vape safely.

And social media is one of the best and worst inventions in human history, there are some great groups that really do encourage the exchange of ideas and support each other.

I'm in one called Telescope Addicts, the group is full of reprobates and enablers who really do try and help each other out and have an unconventional sense of humor indeed. But groups like these that are a positive environment and experience are few and far between.

Usually social media is full of narcissistic psychopaths, flaming trolls, disinformation and folks airing every little detail of their lives or their perception thereof.

But the amount of venomous bile that people can spew via social media is astounding, as some people change drastically behind a keyboard for not any necessary reason apart from they can.

So I think that part of the slowdown of posts and new members is that people maybe aren't aware of ECF and it's a positive environment that encourages the exchange of ideas and information.

I know that I do all I can to promote ECF to folks.

And some of us are forgetting about CBD vaping, so we need to get them aware of ECF and signed up. As all the same gear is used, and some folks will love clouds and some folks will like a stealthy mist and they'll need to know what options are available to them and vape safely as well.

But they're just a few thoughts that I have, and if you really get into it there's probably a lot more.

I've pretty much given up on ECF. I still log on to keep an eye on the classifieds and interesting new posts once in a while (and found nothing in either area for quite a while now). But I pretty much stick to VU and reddit anymore. They both tend to have a lot more conversations that are relevant to me and the way I vape than ECF does. ECF seems to get a whole lot more noobies asking the same stuff time and time again. As a mech only user I feel I fit in better on the other two sites than this one. Reddit and VU both also have much more active classifieds, which is important to me. I also hate having to filter out my comments constantly because of how ban happy the mods can be when the rules are broken.

What it basically boils down to is that I don't feel as comfortable here as I do on VU/reddit because over there I can be me and not have to worry about being banned for it. I also see less arguments over there, which makes me feel like I can post more stuff freely without worrying about hostility and arguments derailing the thread.

interesting implicatum theso.. less regulated place has less arguments? i didnt like the interface at VU, posts felt a bit agro donno if im rememberign right.

reddit, not sure how it works, but if my impression is right that it's less communal and more topcial errrrm adn it's for everythin i can see how some threads can be really targeted.

    72 posts in a day here .. not bad .. ;)

Yeah, during the ECF heyday, it was very active .. informational, especially .. as vaping evolved, it became more mainstream, there became less fiddling and experimentation, folks moved on ..

However, I think there is still a core group of devotees .. and will be as long as the site is up and running ..

I've only been here for over 2 years.

The threads and sub-forums I visit twice daily are still very much active. I definitely belong in the hobby vaper group: love diy mixing and love trying out new builds on RDAs and RTAs. I also love finding out from shiny ECF members what RDA or RTA or mod, I need to acquire :D

Email lists, forums all follow a cycle. They are enthusiastically given life. After a bit they reach middle aged. Ultimately like living people they gradually die.

This is a natural cycle, it happens regardless of positivity or negativity around the fora. It is not either good or bad. It is simply the way life goes and yes death is part of natural life, living.

You do not get the crop rearing rain without the mud. Enjoy what you enjoy and try to not mind the decline. Once it dies it's reborn. So there's that bit of joy. :)

Apologies if my views seem realistic, practical and stoic. So they are, so what? They're my views and I can express them the same as others express their views. No one else needs agree with my views, or accept them for themselves.

Excuse me, trying to sort out my sleeping arrangement for tonight.
