In that short time, I have received a tremendous amount of great advice, tips, and encouragement. And everyone I have interacted with have seemed genuinely friendly and interesting to converse with.

That is a perfect example, IMO, of why I personally don't believe that ECF is dying. I think as long as there IS an ECF...there will always be people wanting to learn things here. Even those of us who've been here for years...are still learning things from other members. Some of us will likely have questions, too, as we start using some of the new stuff we've bought and put in our stash. I know I most likely will.

It's also a plus, that ECF has no shortage of friendly people who are always willing to help others learn new things or to figure out the solution to a vaping related problem they're having. That's 1 reason I've stayed here all these years. I've learned so much from other members since early 2014 when I started lurking, but hadn't become a member yet. I've also gotten to be friends with several people here, that I never would've met otherwise. :)

Completely agree! I think ECF is a great place to learn all about vaping. There are many great threads and to find the equivalents on the social network would be very difficult. The ECF community, in general, is also very friendly and always encourage everybody to quit smoking.

ECF may not be as big as it once was, but it definitely won't go away.

I know enough to know I don't know enough.

YEP . . .

Back on topic. :thumb: I ordered my first kit (GreenSmoke) in December 2009. While I was waiting for my package to arrive, I found ECF. I knew I needed help. This forum has been a godsend. I don't believe I'd become a vaper without ECF. Period.

Although it was not a "Greensmoke" (don't remember what it was, since it was a mail order gift from a friend that I sent back) - almost the same thing happened with "Me" back in June 2011 . . . Then got the newest e-cig around - a KR808 w/cartomizer (who remembers them) was the e-cig of choice for me at the time . . . Just Sayin' . . .

HEY YOU - I resemble that remark . . . :img:

I do remember KR808 cartomizers. My first stop at ECF was V4L--tons of great people used to post there. I got all the help I needed and some. And found my first virtual friends ever--some of them are still my friends and feel more real to me than many of my RL friends, come to think of it. :)

Green Smoke was my first try also. Just didn't quite do it, but helped me cut down. It was after I found ECF and it's helpful members that I managed to quit smokes completely in early 2013. Evic, Protank, and 36mg/ml did the trick along with encouragement and advice from here. Late 2013 I went to the "darkside" and am still squonking today.

Moved on from them to ProTanks, AeroTanks, GS Airs, Aspire K1 and K2, etc. I still have a supply of all of them, except regular Evods, in my stash, along with boxes of coils for them.

That brings back memories. I vaped T3S clearomizers for awhile because the 510 threads on my VAMO got wonky. The T3S had ego threads but was otherwise like an Evod, if I remember correctly. VAMOs had both 510 and ego connections. But the tank that really made vaping work for me was the GS Air. Such great flavor! I vaped those until I started worrying about deeming and got into rebuildables and eventually moved from MTL to DL. But I still have a bunch of GS Air tanks. Maybe someday I'll want to vape them again.

Puffing on one as we speak. Not half bad. A little wimpy, but not half bad.

Ha ha ha! I'm sure they'd be pretty wimpy to me right now, too, as I'm vaping an Aromamizer Supreme. But maybe when I'm 80, wimpy will be good. :D

But I only vape it at 30 watts. :( (That sounds a bit like "but I didn't inhale", doesn't it?)
I have my subtank mini set up at 0.7 ohm and vape it at a whopping 15 watts. So yeah there are folks out there that don't push the envelope.

I still have my original protank sitting on a provari and use it daily. I remember well when the protank came out. Trying to get one was like chasing a unicorn they sold out so quick! It really was the most fail proof thing I had found up to that point. I used it and carto tanks for years.

That is of course aside from my standard REO + RM2 from the same period. I just didn't take my REO out of the house much (or my provari for that matter). I tended to take the Vamo + Protank for out and about because by then I didn't care if I dropped it and destroyed the vamo. Messing up the protank would have ticked me off though.

My preferred clearo first...was the little bitty, disposable Vision Nano clearos that I used on my JoyeTech 510 cig-a-like batteries. Then came Evods on eGo-T 1100mAh batteries, and finally the Innokin 16D (my preferred clearos and coils) on eGo-Ts and iSticks. Moved on from them to ProTanks, AeroTanks, GS Airs, Aspire K1 and K2, etc. I still have a supply of all of them, except regular Evods, in my stash, along with boxes of coils for them.

The Evod Glass clearomizers that came out after the regular Evods...have several improvements (changeable drip tip, glass tank protected by metal, and uses a dual coil. The vapor from them is actually pretty good, even when compared to some more modern tanks. I have 2 local friends who each use Evod Glass clearos, Zenith D22 tanks, and Eleaf GS Air clearos. They've wiped out most of my stash of the Evod Glass though. Think I'm down to only 4 or 5 left.
I still have a couple of the glass Evods and as you say were a big improvement on the original ones. They used to really discolour after a while with certain juices.

you guys did to find a vape.
i just had to keep buying starter kits til i found one i wanted.
that was pretty easy since you guys proved it could be done.

i'm here often to hear what you guys are saying, but i don't post much because i have little to contribute,

Well, we sure cooked those ejuices back when. Thin coils that overheated like crazy, no airflow or decent wicking to cool the coils. ;)

Oh, but we had so much fun! And now that stupid FDA is about to pull the rug out from under our feet. Shame.

KR808's are special to me....in 2009 I got my first and immediately quit cigs completely. Loved them and still would be using except they finally died! Lol

V4L was also my first stop, that was a very active group for sure! I stop in occasionally but not much at all going on. Once in a great while some of the ole crew will post.

i've been here long enow to have grabbed up gallons of nic n tons of supplies.

but, there's nothing i can do for people who decide to quit in a few months,
    it's so sad.

you guys helped me but now i'll be unable to help others/

People will still be able to DIY zero nicotine, and find the odd mod here or there... it won't be exactly the same but there will still be some options.

You still have tons to contribute to new and old alike. :)
