Ignorance is not knowing. Having the truth handed to you and not believing it...that is stupidity. And friend and fellow vaper, I can tell you honestly...If your bud believes anything the American government tells him...he is...I'm sorry to say it...Ok I'll be nice...he's not "ignorant". You get my meaning? The American government is telling us whatever the tobacco industry pays them to tell us. And if it was bad for you it wouldn't even be questioned. (population control...right?) All these bills to fight vaping yet anyone (yes even under-age if they know where to go) can buy a pack of smokes and light up. Your friend...he's not ignorant.

As for the FDA part, there are a ton of studies out there that either used ......ed testing conditions (One hooked up a CE5 to a battery (didn't say the voltage) and let it run continuously in a vacuum til the entire tank was dry or the coil popped...) and/or sub par equipment (The one I saw that claimed to find heavy metals in "popular e-liquid" vapor turned out to be some no-name brand from China). As for the nicotine, you might wanna remind him that it's in a LOT of foods he probably eats often, like potatoes or tomatoes. Then break it down and explain how there's no actual combustion that releases tar and other carcinogens, and how nicotine is similar to caffeine (hence the warning lables). If he's still trying to argue with you, I'd just laugh at him.

Rule of thumb tho... Ignorance can be fixed. Stupidity is permanent.

Just proves the the fear mongering that the FDA & others have been doing for the last several years is working.

First you demonize, that way all hell won't brake loose when you ban something.

Yes and that is the truth and scary, people do horrendous things when they are brainwashed to believe in something untrue, if you doubt me just look at what Hitler got the people to believe and do to the jews

The FDA should have acted 7.5 years ago with spreading their lies ... unfortunately for them and BT, many millions of smokers have quit smoking with the advancement of vaping.

The evidence of vaping being the smoking cessation it appears to be, is growing every day ... they are not going to be able to put the vape genie back in the bottle.

So BT ... how do you like us now?

In many "education systems" those who score highest are those who verbatim regurgitate what teacher teaches them. Those who control the flow of knowledge control its interpretation. Take a look at the political leanings of such educators and how students are taught to think and it's easy to see where the future is headed.

then look to where the wealthiest and most powerful's offspring are educated. Not many in public school or state universities.

The fda is one of the biggest/most expensive jokes I've ever seen in my life, and I have been part of an audit done by them a number of times because of my job. If the government actually cared about me, you, the people around the corner, stores would be half empty cause of all the crap that companies put in their products would be banned.

"If the FDA says it's bad for you, it's bad for you. They're the government, they're not gonna try to take away from your health. And nicotine is on warning labels, so, clearly it's bad for you. Anyone can tell you that." And he walked away.

Everyone has pretty much covered all points on this story here already, but I'd add that if some like that happened again, I'd urge them to do some simple "google that crap, man" about the history and basis of as well revisions of the "Food Pyramid" by which all of this country's (and by proxy, many other countries') "nutrition" and "daily allowance" are based upon for what we all EAT and are encourage to PURCHASE day-to-day, come back and restart that conversation. Love me some "sheeple".

Yes well said but with millions of smokers off the cigs they are feeling the money loss from taxes, and I believe that is what it all comes down to is the taxes and money not peoples health. You are right though I do not think it can be stopped anymore but they can TAX the .... out of the products:(

It would be really hard to talk sensibly with people when they are bombarded with so much crap about vaping. Just this morning I read an article about PG being used in our food products and in the article it gets referred to as "a solvent" and "antifreeze". It's no wonder people can have the reactions that they have.

I learned a long time ago to never claim to know something about something I have no experience with. I know nothing about diesel mechanics and would never claim to, these journalists and friends are like arm chair diesel mechanics, they aren't mechanics but will tell you all about it and try to do so with authority.

I've really feel hopeless about the future of vaping at times because the element of personal accountability and responsibility in some people is just non existent. With integrity and honesty being absent in the presentation of information the battle becomes a convoluted mess of conjecture, outright lies and never ending back and forth.

At this point, maybe because it's election day, I would not care if vaping killed me twice as fast as analogs. just the fact I'm keeping my money away from the idiots that control our country is good enough for me. I figured out how to beat the tax man on analogs and i'll figure out how to beat him on vaping too, if need be.

Someday the Gov. will tax something the masses enjoy and all hell will break loose, Just a dream I have.

Always have to laugh when those that have never smoked try to tell folks how to quit smoking.

However if you do a heuristic analysis of demonizing products, you will often find that it is used as an effective form of advertising. ie: cigarettes are now seen as safer than vaping in the eyes of many.

(especially in that infamous town in England where your e-cig may explode at any moment)
