My Provari doesn't really understand the meaning of on and off. I'm not sure if this is normal, but I'll press the button 5 times, go to power on/off and set it to off. Take out my battery then put it back in, and it'll be back on without me turning it on. I also feel like it has a little mind of it's own that I haven't specifically focused on enough to elaborate on. But, I feel like I turn it off, then it just turns back on again and vise versa. I wish I had more information than that but I'm just curious if maybe there's other ways of turning your Provari off/on without going through the menu that I'm not aware of? I don't know if I'm being paranoid, but I just feel like my Provari is screaming that it's defective, but when I try to reproduce any problems, it doesn't happen.

It's frustrating.

When you remove the battery and put it back in, the processor resets the on/off feature back to "on". So your device is working properly.

Essentially, what you're looking for when you set your device to "off" is to prevent the battery from completing its circuit by accidentally turning on the firing switch (ie in your pocket or purse). Besides using the on/off feature, you can remove your juice delivery attachment (thus breaking the circuit to the battery) or remove the battery.

I never turn my Provari off. It has safety features galore:

On/Off Mode
You can put the ProVari in standby mode so it will not turn on the atomizer when the button is pressed. This safety feature prevents the atomizer from turning on while it's in your pocket or bag and it prevents any settings from getting changed without you knowing.

16 Second Cutoff
If the button is held down for 16 seconds or longer, the ProVari will shut itself off until the button is released. If you forget to turn it off before storing it in your pocket or bag, this protects you and prevents the device from activating.

Short Circuit/Atomizer Protection
This protects the ProVari against shorted atomizers/cartomizers. If this error occurs the ProVari will alert you by displaying E1 on the digital display. Fix: Remove the atomizer or cartomizer and replace with a different one.

Reverse Battery Protection
Protects against reverse battery installation.

Battery Monitoring/Over-Discharge Protection
The ProVari monitors the battery voltage and will automatically turn off when the battery is discharged.

Amperage Limiting to 3.5 amps
The ProVari will monitor and shut itself off if it detects any excessive over-current conditions. If this error occurs the ProVari will alert you by displaying E2 on the digital display. Fix: Lower your voltage setting. V2 - Version 2 now has a higher amperage limit of 3.5amp for low resistance atomizers and cartomizers.

Thermal Monitoring
Shuts the device off if it detects a high temperature condition. Once the device cools off, it will resume normal operation. If this error occurs the ProVari will alert you by displaying E3 on the digital display. Fix: Let the device cool off for several minutes before using again.
(This is a very rare event and something you will most likely never see.)

I'm sorry you are frustrated, but it's normal.

If you click to "Po," then set it to "Of" it's off. It won't fire until you go back and turn it on, but the LED will still show everything in the menu.

If you take the battery out, then put it back in, you have reset it. It is on again.

ETA: I had a heck of a time turning it off. I never do it and couldn't get the button rhythm down. Lol!

People turn it off?...Why?

It's practically impossible to accidently fire a ProVari.

No so sure about that in my pocket and in my line of work LOL, although I cant say for sure if it has happened or not in the short time I have owned the Provari, I suppose the one only reason a puff counter would come in handy,

Oh, I see your located in Woodburn OR. I am located in Oregon City off Redland Rd.
