just a thought... the new Icom pics are color coded and uses the first 2 letters of a single name or the first letters of the first name and second name.... I wonder what the Icon would be if my name was Fred Underwood??

I think he wanted to upgrade the forum as a whole for the forum anniversary (10 years) This is supposed to be fancier, more modern.
It's just gonna take some getting used to, it does give a cleaner look to the forum though.
Only if your idea of "cleaner" means a lot of wasted screen real-estate and really slow page load times. Thankfully, the original ECF theme is available again. It had gone missing for a while last night.
I'm not getting slow page load time.. loads the same for me as the other theme. No difficulty there.
Want to like this but that feature is still MIA. Wasted space is right. I usually use an iPad for my internet forays. Would need a bionic thumb in short order just to scroll the “two feet” between posts.

Finally noticed why i didn't see much changes lolz: i was still on the normal dark theme XD,but even after switching i think it looks much more modern and i don't see what's so confusing,there isin't much changes besides the layout but everything is still there (besides the like system which btw is getting replaced aswell from the @Opinionated link)

I don't have dial-up. I have a 20 mbps connection.
I didn't name anyone specificly either. i have a 20mbps connection too and i think the site even loads faster now for me.
For me, it very much depends on which theme I've got selected. "ECF" is both the most compact and the fastest. The new "Aluminum" is the slowest.
Oh, and FWIW: i5 CPU @3.6 Ghz, 12 GB RAM, so it's not a lame client either.
