2028. Don't know if I'll be around myself.

Maybe Apple and Facebook will get involved. The device would monitor your puffs and nic level to ensure you are complying with your vaping license and the terms of your health insurance policy. Built in GPS would disable the device if you tried to use it in prohibited locations. It would take saliva samples and analyze them, and send that information to the FDA and the Corporations, and probably the Russians. The flavor monitor in the tank would let them send targeted juice ads to the heads up display embedded in your eyeball.

Stuff like that would never really happen though, would it? We can trust our Corporations.

Interesting. When I retired as a hardware/software engineer after 36 years I went to the local technical college and enrolled in their accelerated Cisco network engineer course. 2 years completed in 5 quarters with lots of instruction done through Cisco's online telecommute course at home. We only had to go into the classroom once or twice a week for lectures and hardware hands on projects. We also had internet teleconferences with the instructor about once a week to cover test material and various topics she wanted to impress upon us. It was an enjoyable training experience that left us all confident of our newly learned skills.

I wasn't sure retiring at 58 would stick, but I haven't had to work since.

Keep at it. Busy is better! G'luck. :)

Where encryption goes, so goes control.

I live in a no-scrape zone. (That's prolly swiss cheese.)

Good luck. :)

A multi-contact connector is a distinct possibility, but I'd expect it to be proprietary, not an industry standard like the 510 we currently use. Moreover, I don't think it's practical to implement multiple contacts on anything resembling the existing 510.

I was aspiring to some fun, leaving aside some strict technical aspects; 510 maybe is too tiny to include multiple connections, but the P3 standard would be suitable.
Or, use NFC technology...

Where can I get me DAT plug-and-play?
You can get plugs like that (and matching sockets) from Digi-Key or most any decent electronics distributor.

But in order to play, you'll have to build an atty on top and a mod under it.

Don't start pulling too hard at all the loose strings binding that post together lest we have a whopping mess when the whole thing comes toppling down.

When it all comes toppling down I'll still produce vapor. When I run out of nic or it becomes controlled I'll vape without it if it's banned. Until then, it's business as usual.
