Can I get a witness?

No, but really, this is an attempt to start a conversation about Jesus, and what his life has done for the world.

I'm working on turning over a new leaf, trying to curb the consumer's appetite for all things transient and refocus my energies toward the golden rule

And I haven't been to church in a while

///

I come in peace, to love and serve the lord

///

My wife and I recently moved to Raleigh NC and are looking for a church. Any recommendations? We've been going to the Vinyard for awhile but the dogma's getting in the way the teachings. Know what I mean?

And pardon my abrupt beginning. I'm just looking for conversation while my wife's away for the weekend.

What would Jesus vape?

No, seriously... I Christian but not Christian

A believer but not a believer

Pro life and pro choice

///

Sometimes religion confuses me
It says practice love exclusively

I don't honestly believe Jesus would vape as vaping while less harmful that smoking tobacco is still an addiction and a 'vice'.

Jesus 'had' to be 'perfect' so that we don't have to be. (Isn't that cool?) :)

He was the Lamb without spot, blemish, vice or sin that suffered and died on the Cross for our Sins (and the sins of the World) so that through Him we might be saved.

I too was looking for the perfect church. I found it and started attending there. Then I discovered something that just blew my mind....when I started attending..it wasn't perfect anymore. Just a thought.

Fancy that SG! That was MY same experience! ;)

I don't know what your background is, but I find that I've heard really good things about Calvary Chapel. There are a few of them in your area. It's non-denominational so they don't get caught up in denominational differences. As SG says, we all think that a church is perfect, until we start attending it. We know (or should know) that we aren't perfect. (Why should we expect others to be?)

Jesus drank wine. Doesn't mean it effected his body as it does mine. Jesus was a man. He laughed, he cried, he goofed off and teased his little sisters. He peeped standing up. Based on what i know of him the man, he would be a food vaper, apple pie, Cherry cheese cake, chocolate. i don't think he would care for tobacco and drink flavors. maybe a cappuccino now and then. Those of us who vape those flavors do so because we were once addicted to them...I dont think Jesus would have that sort of attachment to them. No aversion, but as anyone who wasn't used to them they would hold no special place in his daily life.

I wouldn't presume to say that Jesus would vape, but I do know He wouldn't look down on those of us who do.

To Southern Gent's point, several of Jesus' miracles involved food and wine.

I used to be in the "leadership" at our old church. Many times when I was trying to get agreement on various service-type things (not church service but helping others) I made the point that were Jesus here in the flesh today He wouldn't be hanging out in our church. He would be out helping people, going to them not expecting them to come to some stuffy building to find Him. That didn't always convince my peers we needed to do whatever the act in question was, but I still believe it to be a valid point.

People today like what I call "Jacuzzi Jesus". They just come in on Sunday for a soak. That's why we spent this week moving a homeless family out of the shelter and into their own apartment. That's why Monday @ 5:30 pm our congregation will meet at Walmart to buy Thanksgiving dinner/groceries for several area families. That's why we have set aside several thousands of dollars to provide those same families with Christmas. I don't do "jacuzzi Jesus. lol

John 4:32-34
32 But He said to them, "I have e-liquid to vape that you do not know about."
33 So the disciples were saying to one another, "No one brought Him anything to vape, did they?"
34 Jesus said to them, "My vape is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.

I read that His favorite juice was honey flue cured...go look. It's in 1 Opinions 3:12
