I don't know the legalities of it.I think it's unethical. I also think it's a sad day when you feel you have to monitor your employees every move. That breeds lack of trust of him in his employees. Not a good work environment IMHO (Sorry) I was lurking. Made me mad. I'll go now.
Anyone know anything about employee rights??? I went to work today, and found that the owner had installed closed circuit surveillance cameras everywhere. Best that I can find out that so far is that it's illegal if it the premises aren't posted saying that you are entering an area that's monitored by CCTV's. We have 9 guys in our shop and now have 8 cameras watching our every move. I was absolutely livid when I found out. I'm 46 years old and have helped make this guy a VERY rich man, and now I have to be wary of my every move. Helluva thank you, I'd say. He hasn't informed any of the employees about it either, which is also against the law. There's a lot of gray area in the laws covering this. Anyone on here that can enlighten me??? I know this is off topic, but I was hoping someone on here knew more about this than me.
I'll get some more on order this week. I'm taking a little break and getting some more parts to upgrade the lathe. Everytime I upgrade this thing, I find the next weakest link. This thing is going to be a brute when I get done with all the upgrades LOL!!!
