oh wow, yea vaped that stuff too hard. It got gross on me again. But I did figure out which mandrel is meant for the sanding discs and i'll be cleaning metal shavings until I can get that jig going

I use a dremel bp420. I don't cut clear into the carto. Stop dremeling when the metal looks papery thin. Grind a little then look at it. If it's not papery, do it again but don't apply a bunch of force. Once it looks papery, take a heavy sewing needle or a small precission screwdriver and gently poke it out then pull out the sliver of metal. Not hard to do at all. Wipe carto down with a piece of clean cloth and you're ready.

I just had an MRI done. An MRI transmits images by use of high powered magnets. I didn't have anything being pulled out of me. I had my daughter look at my back with a magnifying glass just to make sure. The doctor told me that if I had metal anywhere in my body, the magnets would pull it straight out of me...no if's, and's, or but's. So I'm not worried. Just do like I said and you'll be fine.

Here's a simple solution to protecting the filler when either slotting, drilling or punching a hole in a carto. Take an old SS tube and use a dremel with cutting wheel to cut a section from as shown in the picture below. Now slide it between the carto and filler. Works great and is easy to make!

I find that drilling two holes about the size of the hole in a 901 atomizer works great.
So far I tried a smaller cut then factory , and bigger . Then I tried one hole and now two.

I find two holes that are opposite sides if each other work great . I used a dremel with the engraving bit , the head of the bit is about the size of the hole in 901 atomizers , I put the dremel on setting two and drill straight down heating up the metal.
After I see the the bit drill in about a mm or two I stop and use a tooth pick to puncture the last layer of metal.

After I puncture the metal I use a magnet to pick up loose metal . So far I have not hit the filler except for the times I cut into the side
