I'm having the same problem with the harsh instant burning with the Joye's. I'll try letting it sit like you did and see if that helps.

As a side note, posts by TexasT are going to give me a heart attack from laughter. :p

Kelly - Glad you finally posted in our forum. As you've figured out, TT's posts are hysterical. Don't read them if you have any liquid in your mouth.

Everyone - Kelly is my son. :) He tends to not post in supplier's forums, but let's encourage him to post in this forum.

My experience with these so far has been hit and miss.

I've read many people comment on how strong the flavor is with them but In my case it has been somewhat bland when compared to LR 510 cartomizers at lower voltage or even standard 510 cartomizers at 3.7 or higher. I did however notice that while I wasn't getting much flavor, I was getting a ton of vapor off of it.

Since this was on a standard ego battery at 3.7v I decided to try them on my buzz at 5.0v at first. This resulted in an instant, extremely harsh burned taste.

I then tried at 4.0v and while not as overpowering as on 5.0v the harsh and burnt taste was still there. I decided to try again on 4.0v with a new cartomizer in case the first one was just defective. This resulted in the same harsh burned flavor I described above.

I've been able to get a bit more than 1ml of liquid in them so I wouldn't think the problem would be that I am not filling them enough. I have also tried unwrapping another fresh carto and letting it sit after filling it as suggested earlier in the thread. Sadly, even with that method the results were the same.

So I'm not sure where the problem could be. Plenty of people have had an excellent experience with these carto's and I'm a bit confused as to why I would be having so many problems with them.

Your first experience was with an eGo battery, you say. Hopefully, an authentic Joye product. That produced a lot of vapor, but you thought the taste was bland compared to the non-conventional cartos and batteries. That's why there are mods, I guess. It's not one size fits all.

However, Joyetech is very specific in saying that their products are designed to work with only their own Joyetech counterparts. Their cartos are designed to work with their own batteries, not others, and vice versa. Electronic Cigarette, E-Cigarette, Elektronische Zigarette, Cartridge, eZigar

I use the Joye 510 cartos exclusively. They're not perfect, but I like them. But then, I only use authentic Joye batteries designed for those cartos.

The only time I experience the harsh burned taste is when I have either burned them too hot by puffing on them too continuously (like "hot-boxing" a smoke), or when I've vaped them dry. The Joye cartomizer is made of plastic, and the wicking on the atomizer is appears to be a cotton thread. The fiber fill is more like cigarette filter material, but much sparser. If you burn it too hot or too dry, it will scorch the wick and possibly the filler material. Take it way too hot and it can actually burn the shell of the carto. The key to avoiding any of these is to stop vaping when the carto is getting hot to the fingers, or when the vapor starts to become sparse as the e-juice is used up.

When vaped properly, I find the vapor is plenty dense and flavorful. In fact, one of the main selling points is how smoothly they vape. Maybe too smooth for your tastes. But I advise against using them with batteries they are not designed for. Use Joye cartos with Joye batteries, as intended.

I don't use mine as intended and haven't had a problem yet. In fact, I use them with my wood Phidias' because of the great flavor the joye 510s have had for me. I know everyone scoffs at using cartos with a bottom juice feeder, but this carto is one I really like and it works well for my vaping style so I do it.

OMG! Write it on the calendar...I was right for a change. LOL How are ya liking it soo far, wv?

I am liking it. I just wish it had a on/off button for the battery, but other than that it is a powerhouse. You don't even have to try to get a hit, it is just there!

Boy, I don't know. The old guys up at the Coffee Shop think I'm strange running around with this big, old Buzz ... I don't what they'd say about me if I walked in there with a wood box hanging off my lips. I sure am liking my Buzz though and it hasn't left my hand since I got it.

LOL I'm sure you realize how often you set me up for those oh-so-perfect comebacks and they are right there at the tip of my fingers, just waiting to be typed out...then I have to stop myself because I CAN'T type them here. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

Oh, and nice to have you back btw. :)
