The way I see it the Evic VT watts in TC mode should be called max watt setting.I notice that it never exceeds the watt you have it set for when it reach the set temp or not.
That's why I say I set the power of my SX and VS to where they will reach the desired temp and not way higher than it needs to be, so they operate smoother. I set it a little higher but I don't have to exceed 25w. I don't know why they put a 30w minimum maximum watt limit on the VT.

Well, if joyetech listens to us and didn't had taken away the possibility to do software upgrades this could be an even better device. 30W for starters is too much (for me) would be nice to get that lower, the "problem" with res. lock (new coil/same coil) that we never see unless we do a lot of tricks with it, and some other stuff i've read about is easy to solve with software ....... Still a great device with a great powerpack, don't get me wrong, but ..........

Got the replacement VT as my last one had a problem with resistance lock - this one is perfect.
I'm thinking the original had a problem with the 510 or the spring in the 510.

As it stands the new one is a pretty great device although I'm surprised that I'm not getting longer vape time in Ni mode - about two days.

Hi all
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Question for all you TC gurus:
Just got an evic vt trying both the ni and ti coils the flavor seems muted compared to kanthal

Both TC coils and mod were at room temp when I installed it , locked it and set the TC at 500-580 @ 30-55 watts.

Coils I am using are the ego one ni and ti. The kanthal coils is the reg ego ones.

Am I doing something wrong?

So I've got a kf4 finally (tobeco version).....it was in a clearance rack at a b&m "because it doesn't have enough cloud", for $5 :p
It has a silver plated spring, and I am on my 4th tank with ohms rock steady. Was running a Ti coil at .36 ohms. For giggles I just put a twisted Ni coil on it....we shall see what it does but so far so good.
28 gauge tempered ni200, 3mm id, .07 ohms

Try the CLR coils. They really improve the performance of the eGo ONE tanks.

Can anyone refer me to a vendor from which I can buy more eGo One Mega tanks in either the black or white? I loaned my black one to a buddy of mine & I don't think I'm getting it back. LOL!
There's a white one in the classifieds with 10 Ni coils.

No, I don't think they were doing anything. It does what they intended.

What we should ask them is what's up with the ti coefficient. What type wire did they set, and why its 100+° off.

I've changed to just using the ti in ni mode because it wasn't enough for me at 600 in ti mode. I like a rocking vape with super wet rayon.

So I'm running .52, 28g ti around 38w, 250°c in ni mode... Typicially between 230c(446°f) and 265c (508°f)... For my vaping I don't hit the temp protect and coil hovers around 230c during my vape at that wattage. Equaling in every way the vape I was getting on kanthal at 38w with this many wraps of 28g.

265°c = 508°f in the menus. Actual coil temp is higher with the ti to ni differential.

Probably more than most want I can recomend you start at 185°c (365°f) or less and see how it is for you when using ti in ni mode.

I hadn't spent too much time with the TC on the Evic. I had tried the Ego One Mega tank when I first got it, but had a cold and chose a liquid that had a higher PG level just because I had a cold and wasn't too impressed. The flavor was off, a bit harsher than I was used to, so I blamed that on the tank and my experimentation and/or lack of TC knowledge.

I had picked the tank up again a few weeks later, only to discover it was flooded. Just like any tank, if you let it sit too long without use, it will leak and flood. So I poured out the liquid and rinsed it out, coil and all. I wasn't certain if I was going to use it again (the tank, not the Evic VT). In the meantime, I've been reading through the posts and have come to a better understanding of the controls and settings for a better experience.

Tonight I loaded up the same nickle coil in the tank with a tastier liquid (a 50/50 blend), and it's been performing quite well. Found a sweet spot with 35W and 490F. Much better consistency, vapor production and solid flavor. The Ego One Mega is still way too noisy. So I feel better knowing that the tank, and the whole TC option, isn't a total loss.

Thanks for the insight to the titanium coils; that'll come in handy when I'm ready to test that one out.
