I'm cheap too...lol. I have a bunch of unused tempered Ni200 layn' around tho. Ti just rocks for endurance. Something to consider with Ni is the high tcr values. It forces us to build with lower res; less coil winding options. With the lower tcr of Ti .25ohm coils are no problem....no fear of exceeding the max res for tc....so no fear of jumping out of of tc mode.
Oh, I was thinking of staying below the minimum resistance for vw-mode, and through that avoiding a vw-hit if jumping out of tc-mode. Still, my ti builds can easily handle over 30w so I shouldn't have any problems even if the VT would jump out of tc-mode.

Put that in Swedish Crowns and it'll look more expensive. Been living here for more than five years and I still haven't gotten used to the extra zero in the prices (compared to Euro). For example, 100 euro isn't too bad for a bluray player, but 1000 sek sounds really expensive :)

I was that way with Yen in Japan :p

That doesn't help... It will still jump out of tc if you have bad connections.

I have never dropped out of tc with ti.. Most all complaints I've seen have been with ni jumping out, and many below .2.

I will only jump out if it detects 1 ohm resistance. Most likely, i think, from a broken leg causing res wander over an ohm.

Set the vw power down all the way down if it jumps it will jump to 6 watts and nothing will happen.

I do the same thing; set my VW mode to 30w. My STminis can easily handle 30w, but also I have never had a problem with a STmini jumping when using Ti builds.

I only had once a jump out of TC and it was expectable... New coil and wick submerged in water... Coil remained cool even when firing so mod assumed no change in resistance = kanthal

Can't remember if it was with the evic or a dna though :/

Rdna40 or dna200? Interesting that it would think it's kanthal with little/no res change. Usually tc devices jump out of tc when res goes too high. Hmmmm

I'd say the evic kicks the rdna40 in the pants but I can't......haven't found a single coil rta that could handle 60w...or 40w for that matter......and 60w it not enough for my dual coiled rdas. I'm about ready to upgrade from the Evic already....I'd like to have a tc device capable of 100wmin to run my drippers....maybe a dna200 or even an IPV4s.? Have you had any success in running dual coils with temp control?

I have both dna 200 and dna 40 so I'm not sure but it probably was the dna 40.

I like my evic BUT the precision of a dna is just superior as long as you have a perfect build. The evic will wonder off sometimes even with a great build if you move around big temperature differences and the lock doesn't really do anything. It's a great cheap TC starting device but it can't match the other big boys out there.

Regarding TC with dual coils... I have no problem with them

Mutation x with dual coils Ti, 2.5mm id, 26g 9 wraps each... Massive clouds at 60W and doesn't jump out of TC and regulates pretty ok.

Just tried it on a dna 200 with 100W preheat and 60W at 230C and I coughed my lungs out at 18mg... Did make a massive cloud though :)

Flash E-vapor V3 or V2

My daily carry, and only tank, for over a year. Matches dripper performance.

40w without air screw, even on kanthal. Drill it to 3-4mm for up to 60w or more.

Does temp control perfectly.

I haven't has any issues with dual ti on a clt v1 dripper.

I've got hundreds... It's been the poster child for the rayon thread.. And 200-300ml rayon runs with no gunking on kanthal and no dry burns.

My avitar is the FEV, I'll post some pics later with ti builds. Do you want build pics and mod pics? The v2 does dripper mode, 5ml, and 8 ml modes.
Looked online, still don't see how it works exactly. Does it drip juice through wicks from a tank above the build deck? Maybe just a description of how it works?

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. My second eVic just died... seriously, W T F?!

I replaced the first one three weeks ago after encountering the never-ending "battery low" error.

This second one? It just completely died in the middle of taking a hit. The screen went black and it won't turn back on or fire. (It had a nearly full battery, so that shouldn't be the issue).

I removed the atty, tried plugging it in, and still nothing. Just a black screen. :(

Am I ... cursed, or are these eVics simply pieces of junk?

Unless the shop reset my 30-day return window when I picked up the last replacement, I may be screwed this time. I'll find out tomorrow morning, so please wish me luck!

PS: if anyone has any ideas, let me know!

If your first evic was completely replaced, and not fixed, I would expect the warrantee to start over and if they say otherwise I would make a big stink.

I really hope you're right.

Truth is, I'm not even sure I want to keep replacing it at this point. Two dead eVics in less than a month is a bit much.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see what options the shop gives me tomorrow.

That's unbelievable :(
Specially considering my preproduction unit is a work horse...
You must be unlucky. Try for another replacement....third times a charm!

Maybe I am just unlucky. I'm seriously considering the Sigilei 75 TC or IPVS4 instead, though. Two dead eVics in less than a month is just ridiculous...
