The black seems to be fine so I'm going to attempt to fix it. Just need to find a red that matches.
I've started to use deleon or delrin-glass or delrin-ss tips anyway, to not get burnt on the drip tip :) Would've only bought it for the looks.

Heh I just have to live with it. Other than the inaccurate resistance readings it's pretty great!

From my most recent experience with my 3rd Evic VTC (black one this time) to fill out the three colors and because I love these small great little devices, I have found what appears to be an in interesting improvement in the latest purchase. I got the first yellow one back in May and my second, a white one, in July and last week I received the black mod. ($42) Since I did not ever like nickel even as it performed very well in TC providing great flavor and good clouds, I was somewhat concerned about possible health issues as well as hating doing spaced coils and the fragile nature of the wire. I have been using titanium in most of my TC vaping. Until the recent Evic arrived I was vaping my Ti builds using the mods Ni setting and adjusting my temperature to where it worked well for me. Now with the latest iteration of current Evics (ones that will no longer display the firmware version) I believe that the Ti TCR has been improved as I am now able to use the Ti setting with good results. That was a very pleasant surprise and indicates to me that the Joytech company is not wanting to see their LiPo powered mod become a victim of lack of firmware upgrades. If anyone can confirm my experience with this latest batch I would like to hear about your experience.

This one doesn't seem to be getting too hot surprisingly

You have the wattage/temp set up properly. Too little of either of those will cause your vape to go hot just as fast as too much. With most, but not all juices, too low of wattage/temp will cause harsh vapor too. Kinda like vaping high nic juices. Cough cough.

All 3 of my evics are ver 1.18. Never had an issue running Ti coils in Ti mode albeit I had to turn the temp up to 520°f or so. But that's a known problem with earlier versions like mine. What temp do have to set your new evic to for a warm vape?

Cigatron, I did not want to imply that the Ti setting was not working on the Evic, but just that there appears to be a difference on this later batch- at least to me.I would get the Ti vape best for me in the 1,18 ver with res .16-.19 and 590F. With the new black mod I seem to be getting equivalent vape now with 520F, but, like I said I really have to become more familiar with this new one. It just seemed to me there had been some change incorporated. Not a scientist and don't play one on TV (oops TC) I still prefer the Ti in the nickel setting at 480F or thereabout on all the Evics.

I was talking about the drip tip. While chain vaping an all metal drip tip will easily become hot even though the vapour itself isn't particularly hot or harsh.

Press the fire button 20 times to display the firmware on the earlier ones. The most recent don't display it at all.
Guess I have a new one. Lol
Not sure if that's good or bad. I wish they made these upgradeable.

Metal drip tips can't get hotter than the vapor travelling through them. If you get things set up right a metal DT will never get hot, unless of course you just like a hot vape, in which case a less thermally conductive DT will certainly help. I like a warm vape, so my metal DTs never get hot, even running a Subtank Mini rba at 40w.

Thing is, there is an ideal coil temperature that produces the coolest vapor per watt. Finding that magic temp (the combo of wattage and airflow) produces the best flavor and densest vapor. Thick tasty clouds without all that excessive heat.

So to my point, many times less experienced vapers think that their hot vape is caused by too much power and end up turning down the mod, sacrificing flavor and vapor production, when often it is the opposite, not enough power or too much airflow.

Chain vaping will heat up the atty, which heats up a drip tip if there's no insulation between the tip and the atty (it'll also heat up the mod). Not sure if it actually gets hotter than the vapour (I'm quite sure that it does though, metal will retain heat), but it sure feels that way. In any case, for me, drip tips with insulation are more comfortable to use, and my vapour isn't particularly hot.

I have a first run eVic VT (v1.18) and also an eVic VTC Mini with the latest firmware upgrade (v1.10) Both run the same titanium build identically. Both read same resistance, and both provide same results at ~530 F.
