Try this fer' chits & giggles....
Take 2 or 3 puffs as you normally would (on the eVic W/Mega @ .2) and let it rest for a minute.
Now touch the fire button and you'll see it thinks it is still at ~200 degrees, when it is really at or near room temp.
Take a short firm dry hit (not firing) and check again. Now your 'quick click' reading will be down around 130. Take another dry hit or 2 and now the eVic shows the correct real time display of 70-80 degrees.

I am increasingly persuaded that this "flaw" isn't a flaw at all, but rather the difference between mods that measure in watts or Joules.

An M Class w/ battery is ~$210. An eVic is a quarter of that... 55 bucks.
And the 5000 mah battery in the eVic absolutely feels like it has wayyy more vomp (current dump) than my 25R/VTR4 powered Yihi.
The thing is a dripper's wet dream.
I do not care for the mega tank, coils looked mah, first vertical coils i have used. The tank leaked in my truck. I have been using a derringer v3 rda .11 ohm nickle coil past week. 440f / 39w ,temp control works fine. I tested as you asked. My temp increases & shows on the screen correct (looking) numbers. Evolv is leaking dna200 chip info, so.....

You mean out if the box or previously wetted.

Not sure, I've never had equipment to test. Not sure I've scorched it either. It seems in use the coil needs to start to glow before it even starts to scorch. This may be where the advantage comes in. While it may burn when fresh and dry, once wetted its resistance to burning is increased to a higher degree than cottons.

The scorching I get is on the coil. From the coil getting too hot and partial dry burning. If I drip & wipe the burnt juice off the coil and redrip it a always comes back great indefinitely. So it never seems to hurt the wick. The coil scorches the juice well ahead so what's the real burning/scorching point of VG?. Its got to be higher than that.

I don't think these devices are really built for MTL hitters. I think TP really needs the airflow. I get what one dude is saying about the first registered temperature being high and making it hard for MTL. I don't have experience with yihi or dna40 chips, so me comparing it to those is unfair.
I have neither, but for a good MTL experience you generally need a tight airflow inside the head. No matter how you set the airflow control ring, If the airflow is too loose inside, air swirls inside the coil leading to poor vapor production and poor ability to cool down the coil.

So if the Ni and Ti heads have a bigger coil diameter than the regular 1Ohm head, which I assume they have, the MTL vape experience might not be on par.

Anyway, that's just theory. Has someone compared the TC heads with the regular 1Ohm head regarding MTL?

.....380F (193C) gives me tootle puf kinda vapor. Almost like a normal cigarette and I have to pull long and hard. I do vape 70% vg which has a much higher boiling point than 30% - 50%

Yup, some of us trend more to the tootie side of vaping. The evic TC works great limiting the temp, cranking down airflow, and doing MtL. In VW mode it bucks all the way to one watt...what's not to like.

Yet it will crank up to high temp, to please any lung hitter.

Fair enough. Just a remark... My double Ti build on a mutation x only requires 200C to produce massive clouds. At 230C, the vapor is ridiculous and I can fog up my kitchen with two draws.

Temperature isn't synonym of clouds. Surface area, watts, juice flow and airflow are.

Ordered the yellow and black from vapenw yesterday, got shipping notice today :)

Love the look of this mod, and my local basketball team colors are yellow and black, so works good in that color combo.

I only ordered the mod, not interested in the tank, be using a subtank with black oring and yellow drip tip, so should look pretty good :)

Be warned, it's definitely orange and black, but really good looking and solid either way. You're going to love it.

Color will be fine, my team colors are yellow, orange or gold depending on who you ask around here, the color varies on shirts etc, it be as close as I can get anyway :)

But even take away the color, love the look of the mod, love the screen is different to most out there, and just picked up a few ni200 coils for my subtank today, so can try out the TC on it when it gets here :)

Cool man! Just didn't want you to be all excited for yellow, then open it up and see orange lol. It's a great mod! I have subtanks but I like to use them with all my other non tc mods, so I went ahead and ordered the tct tank to dedicate to my evic.

    .

So true!! At low temperature and/or wattage I get large enough clouds to get complaints from my girl friend, not what I'm vaping for ....

Just tested the mega one atty...

I think I can classify it in terms of vapor between an erlprinz and a mutation x. In terms of flavor, it's under both.
Regarding weight and size, it's too clumsy and heavy compared to a nano erlp while having the approximate same capacity.

A good backup atty. Wish it was truly rebuildable. Not too fond of these pre made heads.

My nickel coil burnt out finally, switched to the Ti coil.... Don't like it as much, resistance reads .46, and it always seems on the verge of dry hit..... Maybe 70/30 vg/pg is just too much for it. I need to find a cheap place to order replacement Ni heads
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

This is a long threads and I probably missed this discussion but why do they call it yellow when it is clearly orange? I don't mind because I could tell from the pics before I ordered but it just seems strange to call it a different color.
They're Yellow in China, but they lose something in translation

I thought the same thing when I first tried it (I'm used to some pretty fine tasting attys) but like I said before, I used it again just to finish off the juice, and I haven't put it down since. Vaped 6 tanks with the Ti coil at 50watts/500°, and it's vaping really nicely. Favors not the greatest, but it's not bad at all. It definitely got better about halfway through the first tank

^see above^...that's vaping max VG juice with pretty lazy lung hits. Maybe you got a Ti coil with a bad wick job? I don't want to sound like a Mega fanboi (it's not the greatest) but it should keep up with what you're asking of it.

So, I repurposed the nickel wire out of the burnt mega coil... Cleaned it and built a coil on my sub tank mini and wicked with rayon.....yeah, the mega pales in comparison. Easily twice the flavor. Gotta get ahold of some nickel wire :p

Mine reads 0.40 and I use the same juice viscosity and no hot vape. It's actually pretty cool compared to my erlprinz.

    I was using it at 250C, 40W.
