Hot harsh vapor production has always meant underpowered imo. Like with a soggy wick first thing in the morning or overdripping an rda. I know it doesn't SOUND right but the coolest your vapor will be is when your coil is converting liquid to vapor at the perfect temp. It's an evaporation process; similar to the one that cools your skin on a breezy day when you sweat. Boiling juice without complete evaporation can be almost as hot as overpowering but overpowering always brings on a burny taste while underpowering brings on harshness.:2c:
if i don't use a device for few hours, i always blow first hit through the airflow hole

My Evic is reported as shipped from GB. Maybe 2 or 3 weeks now.:) My SX Mini keeps the temp very steady at 420 running 16 to 22j. I think the "aggressiveness" in the VT is the 30w minimum power applied to regulate. The SX and the VaporShark work well. The vape is different for each. I imagine the VT will be different still. Any recommendations on Ti wire?

It's not really 30w minimum. Well yes you can only set to 30 minimum. But it does of course down regulate when temp is reached.

In other words, It doesn't cycle at 30w.

Depending on air flow I get down regulation well below 30w once temp is reached depending on how hard I'm drawing. Just took a weak draw and it indicated down to 14w on the screen.

Hello all, I want to order some titanium wire to do my Lemo 2 and some GS Airs, what sizes should I get? I was thinking 26 gauge for the Lemo 2 and maybe 30 gauge for the airs?

Thanks in advance. :vapor:
I'm using 26 gauge in my sub tank, and used it to recoil an ego one head... Both came in at .45
Haven't tried smaller gauge, but I'm happy at .45 so I don't think I'll go smaller

Wow, I'm at .20 ohms in my subtank with 26g Ti-G1 with 6 wraps, 2.75mm ID spaced coil. What's your build to get .45 ohms?

I lost my internet due to a storm. The SX is pwm in TC. That's the reason I was thinkin along those lines of overshooting the temp with a high setting. I guess the VT adjusts the power more like the DNA 40. Thanks, I look forward to getting mine. :)

I'm still enjoying my eVic VT, however, I am not getting the vape from the eGo One that I am used to having from my Herakles. My solution was easier than I thought. I got a pack of Ni coils for my Herakles and am now in heaven. I didn't realize that I could get the Ni coils and was pleasantly surprised that I could get them. I also found that with the Ti coils in the eGo One the vape is improved over the Ni coil. This is a whole new adventure for me and vaping.

I don't really see all the rage with Ti

All I vape now is ti. Been using TI for the last 4 months. I have 8 RTAs all dual standard builds below .10 and the flavor from ti is like night and day compared to any wire I ever used. Once you break in a ti coil all you taste is the juice. It's the cleanest tasting wire I ever used. Absolutely no metal taste at all. Ti crushes Ni coils. I like SS 316L and 317L coils in VV/VW more than Ni

Ok, tried the weak draw thing. I get it now, the device doesn't cycle at the preheat setting when bouncing of the tp setting. Thanks for straightening me out on that.
I Also tried a stronger than normal draw and noticed that the vt would not up the wattage beyond the preheat setting. So can it be said that the preheat setting is actually a wattage limiter?

I guess you could call it preheat. But I see it as the set wattage. At least till it hits temprature. iow, it doesn't just fire at that pwr for a set time like a preheat. If you have heavy wire and little enough wattage set you may never hit temp limit on a short lung pull thus getting straight wattage at the coil corresponding to the setting.
......

With a minimum of 30w firing power it seems any gauge lower than 28g would hit tp instantly by nature. Think of how much power kanthal would take at that gauge to heat to temp instantly.

Also cool tip -
Instead of a mirror to see the screen.. You can also use your phone with the screen off as a mirror/ reflector.

Makes sense. This is my first tc mod...I picked up the term preheat from someone along the way....I'll drop the term.

The smart phone trick works great btw.

If you set the SX Mini to 25, it's gonna pulse 25 to the coil as often as necessary to keep the temp. You can set the power too high for the temp and when it pulses it will briefly overshoot the temp and break until it drops and pulse again. You can even hear it buzz if you set it that way. The thing to do is set it closer to the necessary power to bring it to the temp you desire and it runs smooth. Sounds kinda wonky but I like it better than the VaporShark which regulates more like the Evic. I'm still lookin forward to seeing how it compares.
