Yup that was me. At the very top of the mod is the battery control circuitry, USB interface, and the digital resistor that receives its commands for firing voltage to the MOSFETs from the mother brain right behind the display. It is quite possible that you have juice contamination too and may not know it.
If you are brave you can take a Torx-5 and remove the top screws and gently pull the top to see if there is any droplets of juice in there. If so it may be toasted. You could try and pour the highest % of isopropyl alcohol over the board and let it dry and see if it revives it. I'd highly recommend disconnecting the battery from the board prior to doing this as you don't want to potentially short out the LiPo.
Best of luck. I really liked the VT, but the one that I repaired from Thaya's parts died a few weeks after I "fixed" it and I decided it was time to move on. I may try to repair it again in the future, but I spend HOURS on it last time swapping displays and IMO $70 on an "upgraded" mod (with 3 18650s) like the RX200 was worth it vice popping open the VT again.

Oh no worries @thayamax I greatly appreciated the PIF and it helped me get by until Christmas when I got to open my new mod. Wife and son were not too impressed. "Oh it's Dad's new vape thing" lol. I was ecstatic to get a new mod!
It has taken me almost 2 years for vaping in the house to not be taboo
I do spew clouds in the bathroom or garage though out of courtesy. Other than that I "stealth" vape all the time without a second guess. Finally "they" have agreed that it is much better than smoking (which I never did indoors, but probably still stunk to high heaven)!You did help the research out of flashing the VT with the mini's firmware which was determined to be a bust.

Well I took it apart one last time and flushed it out with contact cleaner again paid special attention to the usb charging connector the 501 threads while pressing down the pin and the underside of the top cover trying to remove any juice that may have entered the device. After that I allowed it to dry for a few hours. Then I played around until I got an indication that it was charging that is a blinking of the battery indicator. After allowing it to charge until it appeared to be truly fully charged I tried to fire it up again and BINGO it's working!! 
Now I don't have any idea how long it will last but every puff from now on is a bonus!

How do I clean the inside of the USB port? I get very inconsistent charging no matter what I try and charge it with. I looked at it with my 10x Loupe, and there is crusted gunk all over the USB copper bits.
I've tried QD Electronic Cleaner, but the gunk is still there. I've tried to scrape it with very thin tweezers (Swiss Army Knife). I just can't get into the teeny-tiny grooves.

you probably have several micro-USB connectors laying around;
designate ONE and goop it up with one of these,
use it to 'treat' USB ports you use- ALWAYS be gentle...
then consider once done, now you have a 'dust-magnet'
something to make ya think...
it works for me...
Try a needle. It can get between the grooves to scrape.
If you want try something that maybe more effective, if you still have trouble...Mix some baking soda with a little water, you want it a little bit more watery not too pastey. Put a drop of this on the pins. The baking soda should bubble up if its working on the corrosion, and will eat away the corrosion leaving a clean surface. Then you'd have to hold up upside down and use a syringe or something to rinse it out carefully after its done bubbling.

Man it's difficult to get good macro pics. I had to literally shove the VT60 right next to the lense of my Powershot A720, and finagle a small 10W Halogen desk lamp to try and provide light.
Well all I had was the QD Electronic Cleaner, GOO GONE, some 28 GA twisted Kanthal, and a old tooth brush. It's better, you can see copper color, and at least it can charge now.
Next I'll try some twisted 26 GA, or 24 GA.

I've found a set of needle (jeweler's, precision) files indispensable for electronics work. They also tend to be cheap too.

Baking soda will dissolve it I bet. Even just a tiny amount on a needle applied to each pin. The green will be gone. Like in this video

might be worth your time to pull the assembly out to do the work...
guessin you're on the coast and salt air is NOT your friend
defiantly a good case for always using some protective grease

Wow! that baking soda stuff worked great on that car battery. I do not have any other issues with other devices charging. But I'll deffo be cleaning all devices & any USB cables with baking solution & tooth brush, just so I know they are clean.
I ordered a 25pc set of silicone micro USB dust covers about a month ago from Amazon (I didn't know it was being shipped from China). They should be here soon. Once I have all my devices cleaned, I'll be using those covers.
