Hi guys, I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for a long time. I've been searching for an answer to a problem for a few days and can't find any info specific to this. I recently changed where I get my juice and am starting to have some issues with my coils burning out wayyyyy to quickly. My setup hasn't changed and the brand of juice I use is the same, just sourced from another vendor. I'm using an ego c twist battery, ce5 tank with t2 coil. I vape a lot and will average around 4 solid days with a coil before it starts to get wonky. Right now, I'm not even getting a full day of vaping before my coil dies. Am I missing something? Like I said, my setup and habit hasn't changed, the only new variable is my juice. Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

did you change your coil??? and if you did, did you put the same ohms back into the atty??? the coils may "look" the same but differences in ohms will make a coil last longer/shorter.... a 2.4 ohm will last longer than a 1.8 ohm since the 2.4 is a cooler running coil and wont gunk up as quickly... and the juice is a major contributor to increased gunk

Kanger and Aspire have scads of coils on the market that rise in resistance quickly. If your mod has a resistance check, use it when the coil is first installed and here and there throughout the day. In a day, one of those coils will change from 2 ohms to 3 ohms to 4 ohms as you vape. If you keep increasing the voltage to maintain the vapor, it will eventually open up and stop working.

The problem is cold solder joints in the wire. They silver solder non-resistive legs to the resistance coil wire to prevent burning of the post insulator grommet. From what I've seen they aren't using enough heat to make a bright joint or the heat from the coil is slowly melting the solder joint. The coil wire eventually loses contact and the solder joint turns a dull gray from heat.

Wire welding would solve the problem and that's what I expect to see in the future. It may not happen, but my Kanger and Aspire coils have the same problem. I suspect that there's a common vendor for the wire used in both.

You might also check into ProTanks.
The full size and minis. I also like the Aerotank after I rebuilt the stock coils with single coil micros.
All of the above tanks work well on a Twist.

Agree with most of the above except leave the Protank 3 alone, completely rubbish after the success of the PT2. The aerotank however is a superb piece of kit as are the protank minis which give good flavour.

BTW - Wouldn't it kinda Pin Down Conclusively that the New e-Liquid is the Cause if you switched Back to your Old e-Liquid and the Problem Went Away?

This will be my next test.. Every time I change the coils, I tone back the dial until I find my sweet spot, however I don't exceed 4.0-4.1

Darker thicker liquids tend to gunk up coils faster.

Unflavored will last your coils longer.

4 days is pretty normal.

The Reason I asked was I have been Following this Thread...

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ekang-juice-production-date-12-04-2014-a.html

Not Saying that this is what is Going On with your Situation. But something you may Want to Contact your Vendor and Ask About.

Thank you for that link, sounds exactly like my situation. I'll call the vendor today an try to settle this out. Very weird, and both my local shops I frequent are completely puzzled!

It all could be Completely Unrelated. But it would be Something that I would Want to pursue.
