I find that the juice changes only on the darker juices. I have not had any tubes crack yet. I buy my own through mcmaster carr. I have never had a leak either. I take care if the orings and change them at the first sign of wear. I also use a tapered drip tip when running the carto through the caps. This stops the damaged to the inside oring
The most dramatic changing juice I had was a pretty light yellow juice and it turned almost brown, it was one of the most expensive juices around too. I am not sure what you mean by tapered drip tip, where is it tapered and why? Sorry if that is a dumb question, I just cant imagine what you mean. Also could you send me the measurements for the poly tube, I cant find my calipers and am having issues using a tape measure.

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out, tapered tip to insert the carto, sorry, just woke up.

1st post (after D of course) yay!

I got my stainless steel pipe in today. It came UPS. My husband went to work cutting. Here's what I've got :)
Seriously put a P-18 with a SS tank on it beside a P-18 with a polycarbonate tank on it......... we all know which one looks sexier.

Pay extra special attention to the 3 mods on the left. The P-18, P-16, & P+ 18350 (P-10 & T1 are in the usps hands at the moment)

I am officially done with polycarbonate FOREVER.

Thanks for the tanks Jen. In examining them, they appear to be polycarbonate. What i'm learning is, there are evidently different grades and manufacturers of polycarbonate. I suspect where and how we source our polycarbonate has a profound effect.

The Mcmaster Carr material I order has been great. I run 6 different tanks all with different juices and I have yet to have a failure. I think they are a good source....But you have to pay attention to what you order....They sell more then 1 type
Well I think that some juices will kill any polycarbonate because I ordered the part number poly that you told me about and this lemonade had it shattering literally in a few minutes, its so crazy how quickly it happened, hundreds of little micro fractures in minutes. Luckily I picked up some stainless steel tubing with the same id, since I dont think the lemonade will have a chance up against that. I will not be using this lemonade flavor in any poly tanks but I am sure the poly I got will do very well for my other juices.

I guess the juices I'm using aren't as damaging....Are you sure you wanna be vaping this stuff? I mean....you are inhaling it.

I have had this discussion with quite a few people now, the way I think of it is just because it reacts badly with poly does not necessarily mean it is bad to inhale, lemon juice can eat through aluminum and coca cola can dissolve a nail but we still drink them. Also, I was inhaling Arsenic, Methane,Ammonia,Cadmium,Carbon Monoxide,Formaldehyde,Butane,Hydrogen Cyanide. ect ect, when I was smoking. Also nicotine is a poison itself, So what I am getting at is that organic lemon flavoring does not worry me. No disrespect intended just explaining why I feel the way I do about it.

i might be able to help some with the material hunt. iv been trying a few diffrent ss pipes on tanks. the best one and only one i would use as of now is the 316 from mc as the others stated seemless but that was only on the out side. the part number for it is 89785K262 by the foot and its 100% seemless inside and out thus the seal is great. the other pipes i tried state seamless are only on the out side and caused very slow leaks due to the weld marks in side the tube.the 316 pipe does not come polished but that is an easy fix. i used a pipe cutter and had to bench sand the taper the cutter makes flat. i debured it with a very slight and very shallow angle to help slide it on top of the o rings. iv had 4 set ups with this tube for about a week now and not a single leak. 316 is a very common material grade that is used for body jewelry as it is commonly called "surgical steal" but they use either 316l or 316lvm. the difference in those grades is the amount of pits in the material. 316lvm is only available in a sold pipe as its vacuumed molded to have no pits. hope this helps as id love to see this option for the masses and even though i have some now i would rather buy them from a vender ready to go since most have a better way to cut them and have a tighter tolerance in length then a pipe cutter gives. as far as taste go the way i cleaned them was.. metal fan brush drimel makes with dish soap for a good deep clean then follow that up with some iso alcohol followed up by a ever clear soaked rag pulled through it a few times then a nice water rinse to just go over board with it. i had no flavor lose with that method.

Hi sporty! My tanks, when i finally get to them, would be machined from solid stainless rod, so any welded seams and pitting wouldn't be a problem :)

Can't wait, wonder if they will be threaded vs how most of them are today?

IMO, it would be great if they threaded into the body as a top-cap replacement and he used a completely different take on a viewing window than we've seen to date. I'm lobbying for three, equidistant, parallel slots to echo and integrate with the battery vents.....but what do I know, it might not be workable or remotely close to what he has in mind. Not including any windows would certainly be simpler, but I do think they would look awesome. :)
