Now I read about that PACT BS. WTF?!!! So, I won't be ordering online, huh?

Oh...*sting of cuss words you can't imagine* - poo. (I keep threatening to move out of this country. Not sure what will break the camels back. I'm only like 10 miles from Canada.)

Um, I know I shouldn't jack this post with more questions, but WTH.

How often do you guys snus?

Except for when I'm eating, I usually have one in all day. The flavor lasts for me for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Usually within about half an hour of taking one out, I'm putting a fresh one in.

I could be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure you can still order snus online, you'll just be paying taxes on it and USPS won't be delivering it.

Ok, cool. I wasn't sure if I was over doing it. I guess I'll know what my limit is just like in vaping. Unfortunately that comes just after over doing it. LOL. A fresh one going in too. :D

the best thing about snus is that it comes in different sizes and strengths. So you can tinker with you're intake to see what works best for you.

You can still order online after the PACT act kicks in. You will just have to pay the taxes, both state and fed, and prof of age on delivery. My plan is just to blind em my shiny dome, grab the goods and run. They'll never know what hit em.

Seriously, it's not the end of the snus world. Just a bit more expensive and more of a hassle.

I do about 5 to 6 grams a day. Some do more, some do less. Whatever you need to stay off the smokes.

Ah gee's. Do ya' all know what fed taxes will be? Sounds like it might be as painful as a tank of gas.

Haha. I thought the same thing when I heard about the PACT not long after I started snus-ing! The extra taxes and age verification definitely suck, but the good news is that Swedish snus will still be available when the dust settles. Even with the extra price, a roll of snus costs way less than a carton of smokes and lasts way longer, so it's still a net win. :)

If I'm awake and not eating, I've pretty much got a portion in my mouth. Most last 1.5-2 hours on average for me... although every now and then things will get busy and I'll leave one in for 3 or 4 hours just because I forgot it was there.

kookie,
there are plenty of females using snus to keep their sanity. There are several in this sub-forum who will probably chime in when they come back on. This time of year, everyone is busy with other stuff.

Once you get used to it, you can use one without anyone knowing. I use them at work, where "chewing" is not allowed. No one is the wiser. Sometimes, I need the Thunder Frosted mini to get my levels up but I also enjoy the Fellinni Mini Mints, which have a hint of dark chocolate flavor in them. There are many flavors and strengths to choose from. Snus has definitely helped me keep the monster at bay. I would not succeed with vaping alone.

Right on!!!

I do have something kinda' funny to tell ya'.

I do animal rescue. Today, Saturdays, we do an adoption event at a pet store in the Detroit area (Troy). A friend, and fellow volunteer, went next door to the grocery store. I was heading there to get a pop (soda). On the way, in the store, we had to, of course, stop and eat the samples. I munched away until I was handed a sample of some shrimp dish. I was about to tell the lady that the sample of shrimp was the worst I've ever had! Then it hit me. Thats not just shrimp, thats snus! I had become so comfortable with it in my mouth that I had forgotten I put it there 3 hours ago.

 So I have a new recipe for a snus n' shrimp dish... Ha, just kidding.

That was the General Dry Mini Mint. The mini certainly is for me. Portion, I am preety much always aware its there. Snus is Working great for me too.
Loose as a goose with my snus. <--Had to be cheesy and throw that in.

BTW, I'm not sure why they call it "dry" when its actually moist. I guess its not as moist as like the original portion. ...Whatever. After trying all the different samples, I am "kind of" getting what it all means. Maybe something was lost in translation from swedish slang or something. I feel its somewhat like Starbucks.
Swede: "I'll have a small coffee please?"
Barista: "Do you mean a tall?
Swede: "No! A small... and I don't mean a short! Make it half-caf and the shot ristretto... Cancel that! Make it Sterk."
Barista: "What?!"
Vapor: (Butts in) "Tailpipe that barista!"
Y-e-a-h, like that. :D

Anyway... Back to my paranoia that started this whole thing. Do your gums kind of itch when not snusing?

Oh,

That is funny kookie. I had a similar experience where I forgot I had a portion in and went to a mexican restaurant with my wife. The "dry" portions mean that they are not sprayed with the tobacco solution that is used on alot of portions. I don't think that my gums ever itched but I put my portions at the very rear of my mouth on top over my wisdom teeth. I did have a little irritation here a month or two ago but was going thru some bad cravings and was snusing like a crazy person. I am glad you are doing better with the snus. I think it's great that you do the animal rescue. We have a friend that works for our vet and does rescue on her off time. We got our cat from a shelter that had gotten our cat and the mother and brother. He is a great cat and does fantastic with the kids. I kinda wish now that we would have taken the brother too. It would have been nice for him to have a playmate. We are afraid to get another one now since our last cat went crazy when we got this one and had to give her away. She would try to kill the little one and then started spraying. We couldn't put up with that. We tried everything we could think of including a prescription that we got from the vet that was supposed to calm her down.

All of you have been so patient with my 20 questions. I appreciate it very much.

when we got this one and had to give her away.

Hittman, you have been very helpful. So, I will tell you something I shouldn't. I've worked rescue for at least ten years. I mainly work with dogs. The cats I help have been feral cats with the TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release). When you work rescue you become like a magnet for strays. I also pull dogs from kill shelters, mainly Detroit Animal Control (A god awful place). The rescue I mainly work with is:

    HomeFur-ever Home Page | Home Fur-Ever

And here is my current foster:

Adoptable Boxer: Goober AKA 'DJ': Petfinder

If you go to adopt another cat, DO NOT mention you gave away your old cat. That is a red flag no-no. I completely understand your position, but a rescue will not. I myself am not a cat person and would have actually done the same. I hope the old cat was "re-homed" to a good place. Most rescues will consider this irresponsible and will not adopt another cat to you. They can be very picky about these things because of the horrible things we've all seen and experienced. So tell them something like, "We had another cat, but it died at a ripe old age, we miss him, and we want another cat as a friend for our other cat." That will make another adoption go smoothly. Now, I was not suppose to tell you that, but you have been very helpful and thought I'd help out if you did indeed decide to get a friend for your new cat. (I hope another rescue does not catch me telling you this because I would be crucified. Lol)

Oh, go vote for my dogs picture. He is #13:

I'm gonna lose, because there are other cuter pics, but he only has one vote so far :glare:

    Thanks!

At a graduation party last week I was showing my husband's family ecigs and my husband's snus. As you can imagine, the snus was a little "iffy" for the ladies, so I recommended lozenges, strips or sticks. Those are good options for ladies who feel "weird" with snus.

Remember that even U.S. snus is 98 - 99% safer than smoking and the risk of oral cancer is still at least HALF of the risk of oral cancer with smoking! (Those warnings you see on smokeless tobacco in the U.S. is meant to scare people away from it and has the wonderful side effect of keeping people on cigarettes! Our government is stupid - or just very sneaky.)

Thanks for the info . We gave the cat to an older person that lives alone so she could be the center of attention. No intentions of adopting more right now. The cat we have now is great and don't want to take a chance of messing things up.

Oh ok. I was a bit worried. Sounds like a good home.

I've worked for Uncle for the better part of ten years now... It's very much a combination of both. ;)

Thank you Kristen. I had no idea it was 98% safer. Puts me a little more at ease. And your right, oral cancer comes from smoking too. It just doesn't seem so apparent.

Snus is working nice for me, but I have been looking at the lozenges too. I will have to see if that could be obtained locally as well.

Kristin, thanks for the info but you are preaching to the choir here. Good to see you in the smokeless forum again.

I know, Hittman. Of course my comments were meant for any ladies who come across this thread and aren't familiar with smokeless tobacco products - I know you guys know you're stuff (or should I say "snuff?" LOL!) ;)

I owe you guys a sincere thanks for turning me in the right direction regarding ST. (I was taken in by the anti lies at first.) My husband now orders his snus from Sweden, thanks to you all! If it wasn't for ST, e-cigs wouldn't have worked for my husband.

We've come a long way and have so much further to go to educate people about smokeless tobacco. I always try to make sure I think of ST users, in my duties with CASAA, so it doesn't get completely lost in the high profile e-cig battles!

Thanks kristin. I did not mean to be rude at all. You are always fulll of great information and a great help to others. I don't know how you find time to do it all. I believe that thanks should probably be targeted more towards OTD, TV, and a couple others. Unfortunately a couple of the them are taking a break from the forum. Myself and the others here are trying to hold down the fort until they return.
