Sweet! I rushed my order last week and I got the 3 strand type. I used it as a heat guard wrap on my bamboo shaft I use to direct steam for my uncle's allergies

Which is better? Natural or Bleached?
I saw a pic of one of BJ's recent setups on a Vivi Nova, and it looked White. I was surprised by that, but it looks like Bleached might be the thing now.
Does the Bleached have less initial bad taste, or Break-In time? However you'd like to word it. Sorry, but I haven't read up in a while. I hope you don't mind me asking.

I wish I could find a shorter supply, like 1/2 or 1/4 that much, for less than $20 +$6. I could handle $5 or $10 plus S&H, but funds are pretty tight. I'm going to ask the Vendor about this. I'll let y'all know.
Can we use hemptique brand? My local craft shop carries a wide variety of their product. It doesn't state on the package if they are waxed, dyed, bleached, treated, whatever. All it says is "Natural Product". Here is the actual product It is only a few dollars, but I want to be sure.

A few pages back, some users tried to bleach/alcohol their hemp wick to get rid of the taste. I don't know the result, haven't bothered to look for them.

I believe soaking in acetone was the eventual solution to removing most of the "hemp taste"...

BJ I have to ask you how much is the ceramic wick? Also is it better then your last setup where you had a 2mm main wick and a 2mm feeder wick? My protanks and vapeonly bubbles like yours when I chain vape. I have been getting ALOT of hemp swelling with my last few heads. It vapes good the first tank but once I leave it overnight it swells up and chokes itself.
The ceramic BD13 is not on sale yet. What chokes when you leave yours overnight? Does it quit wicking or does it choke the airflow?
I have never used acetone, but washing between your fingers with dishwashing detergent before boiling twice works for me, also softens the hemp and makes it wick better.
Both my air holes are drilled out on the vapeonly. The draw gets noticeably tight when i take direct lung 10s draws. It seems to get constricted and doesn't wick as well over night. Maybe its because i am loosening the twist when i take some strands out. This is only on some heads so I am still working on something that'll work constantly. So far I like 4x5S but I have to twist the 5S pretty tight to leave extra rooms if it swells. I also like freehand 3x7S. I use a needle about 1mm to wrap the coil with the wicks. Both gives me good flavor. I don't really care about vapor as much anymore. I don't get a lot of swelling with the protanks though.
Just got 430 feet of the 1mm hemp wick, i think it's the same stuff as BJ43 uses, the label on it is the same.. seller doesn't sell the 2mm stuff but i'll be asking them if they can, and posting the source here. This may be of use to other UK vapers, if someone else hasn't already posted the link to the supplier i used.
Just trying my first Hemp wick in my Protank and Evods. Washed and boiled hemp as per BJ, and left to dry. It came out nice and soft and enlarged from original size.
Using 32g kanthal 5 wraps giving 2.8 ohms. Have opened up the channels for the wick slightly, to help with choking off the flow of juice. From dropping a little juice onto the hemp before installing the head, it does appear to wick like crazy. Very encouraging.
Still experimenting with different number of threads through the coil. Tried 4 which went through, but was very tight, and choked up straight away. 3 seemed ok, but when juiced, I had to pull some threads out to loosen it in the coil as it was very tight, and I was getting hemp flavour. Now trying 2 threads, which seemed very loose in the coil, but as this hemp seems to expand so much, may be ok after a nights soaking. I think maybe 2.1/2 threads may be the optimum for my setup, but time will tell.

Check out the amount of strands thats in there. You want really small fine strands that will break up almost cotton fluffy if you play with between your fingers.
I get a lot of swelling after I got through 1 tank. The heads that taste really good right off the bat gets choked up overnight. What device are you using the hemp on?

Thanks for the reply. I am using a mixture of Vamo and Egos with the Protanks and Evods. The swelling of the hemp appears to have stopped now, but the taste has become less, and the TH harsh. On inspection, the wick appears very wet so no sign of choking since I have pulled the threads, so no idea why I have lost the flavour. I did try just 2 threads of the 1mm hemp but it wasn't enough at all as it didnt swell up enough to fill the coil. Will keep trying as I believe the hemp could be good for me.
thats weird. Almost every build I do with the protanks i get a consistent vape. Its the vapeonly BCC that I have trouble getting good right now. If its the 1mm hemp I have to use at least 3 for the protank. If I don't break up the strands in the hemp I use an oval coil. If i use a tradition coil I break up the strands down to 4-5S and use for wicks like that with 1 7S feeder wick over the coil.

I canceled that order from amazon and went with BJ's recommendation on lovepetal... Should be here soon so we will see. I love cotton on my RDAs because cotton is so thirsty, but I really want to love hemp. More to come on results shortly..Clark
