I still haven't gotten around to setting my AGA-t+ up yet, but the Hemp wick on my IGO-L dripper is awesome, and I removed the flavor wicks from a bottom coil clearo and replaced them with 1 2mm 12ply hemp flavor wick. With a good tobacco juice in it it was just a tiny bit ropey tasting for the 1st 1/4 tank then that vanished, and it's vaping awesome!

As I said before, I have never gotten any organic wick to satisfy me in a gennie. My best gennie setup is with a AO ceramic/ribbon coil, and a hemp flavor wick that really improves and stabilizes the wick.

I was happy with my A/O wicks (have about 4 of 'em going at this time). Then a week ago I started using cotton bunny tails (flavor wicks) and they're performing noticeably better. That was a good tip BJ. (Sorry, to mention cotton in the hemp thread, I'm just not a fan of hemp).

Cheaper place to buy the ceramic.

White Rub Stone 60 Grit - Amazon.com

Are you sure this is the same material?
Aluminum Oxide (the stone you linked to) is a far cry from ceramic.

Are people making wicks out of ceramic?
Or are the so-called ceramic wicks actually made from aluminum oxide??

I've done enough sandblasting to know that you don't want to be breathing aluminum oxide, though I do not know how it would react as a wet wick in a solid form.

Aye, I remember, but I don't have any ceramic on hand, or the tools to form it, (or the steady hands and patience for that matter).
I DO have 325 mesh SS that I'm planning to use with my 1st attempt and I will be using the Hemp flavor wick as you've pictured.

so far I'm having better luck with minicoils + hemp wicks... internal diameters around 2-2.5mm seem to get the best of the two worlds, while smaller coils (proper microcoils, 1.5mm ID or less) only allow me to stuff one 1mm twine inside, and that can't cope up with my triplets

there's a name for that too? :)
my coil diameter is just over 1mm and yeah I can only put one 1mm wick through.
It's working nicely but it's mainly because I've been using 30ga. 28ga is on its way so I'll try bigger diameter next time.

triplets!! do you take like 1 second draw?

Yes this is what we are all using as white ceramic wick and/or BD13.
This is what I bought and is another source. But I think they sold out to ECF members.

Very interesting...
I wonder who decided to start calling that ceramic?

Aluminum Oxide is not ceramic.

Strange...

Ummm, do yourselves a HUGE favor, and make sure you're at least wearing a paper mask when you're cutting and or grinding that stuff.
SPECIALLY, if you're doing it dry!!

Yep, most are wet grinding with all the safety precautions, then soaking in lemon juice, boiling, and flame torching red hot. When setup correctly it is an amazing wick.

Yes someone on the microcoils thread correctly named bigger ID coils mini instead of micro :)

My 'normal' vaping pattern is made of 2 or 3 long draws in a row, say at least a couple secs each. During the second puff you start exhaling from your nose, and then it's vapor all around ;-)

Starting using Hemp for my bcc flavour wicks....really convenient and long lasting.

On another note, by choosing Hemp over Cotton (or anything else) you are saving the planet...pat yourselves on the back.:thumb::thumb:

Hemp vs Cotton: The Ultimate Showdown | Collective-Evolution

Some other important facts

-Environmentally, hemp is a safer crop to grow than cotton. Cotton is a soil-damaging crop and needs a great deal of fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides.[xliii]

-Cotton crops in the USA occupy 1% of the country’s farmland but use 50% of all pesticides. [xliv] "The pesticides used on cotton, whether in the U.S. or oversees, are some of the most hazardous available today," says Doug Murray, Ph.D., a professor of sociology at Colorado State University who has studied pesticide use on cotton overseas.

-1 acre of hemp will produce as much as 2-3 acres of cotton.

-Hemp is 4 times warmer than cotton, 4 times more water absorbent, has 3 times the tensile strength of cotton. It is also many times more durable and is flame ......ant.

-Many high fashion clothing manufacturers have produced clothes and footwear made with hemp. Some of these include: Nike, Converse, Armani, Patagonia, Polo Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta and many more.

-Hemp fabrics were once far more expensive than cotton and other fabrics due to limited supply, but increased demand and availability in recent years have lowered the price considerably.

-Hemp breathes well and wicks moisture away from the body better than cotton.

-HT Naturals (Canada’s largest hemp t-shirt supplier) asserts that selecting their hemp/cotton blended t-shirt over an all-cotton t-shirt saves the environment 744 gallons of water. This company has recently partnered with Canada’s National Research Council to create Crailar an enzyme that will make hemp fibres as soft as cotton.

BTW...the first pair of Levis 1853...you guessed it...Hemp!

I finally got a good working coil on my AGA-T+
Then I plugged it with an unbleached, undyed, unwaxed, WELL boiled, natural hemp, 12 strand, 2mm, twine flavor wick...
AMAZING Flavor and Throat hit! And the vapor is actually better than the video shows, considerint the juice is 100% PG and there's an air-conditioner blowing on high right at the back of my head :D

Indeed! It doubled the vapor... and increased the wicking so I can chain vape all day and never get a dry hit :D

This was the rawganique's 12 ply 2mm (TW12B400) and I boiled it for about 18 hours, changing the water 3 times... The last boil the water stayed crystal clear...

This flavor wick did not change the taste of the juice at all... No grassy ropey taste break in period like some have mentioned, this was perfect from the very first vape!

Boiled it for 18 hours? Is that right or a typo? That is a awfully long time to have something going on the stove or whatever not to mention the electric or gas cost to do it.
Either way I think this will have to be the next thing I want to try ;)

Gas, stove... But yeah that's right... Understand, (if you've read this full thread you'll know) that this is way beyond what most people do. However, I read in a couple of posts, in this very thread I think, that extended boiling helps to loosen the fibers, removes all traces of residual taste that MAY be there, and increases the capillary wicking action of the hemp...

What I know for sure, is that it burned less than $1 worth of natural gas, the twine doubled in thickness (AFTER it was dry), Imparts no flavor at all to my juice, and has insane wicking properties.

You do have to keep a close eye on the water level even using an 8 quart dutch oven!
