Not rebuilding them just to slide out the wick from the coil and slide in a hemp one.

I bought mine(natural 1mm) from this ebay seller named lovepedal and it's working very well so far. Wicks better than any silica or cotton I've tried so far.

This could quite possibly be the dumbest question I've had in a while...but here goes.
I understand that hemp comes from a certain plant that shall not be named...I also have random urinalysis about three times a year as there is an absolute ZERO drug tolerance policy where I work. Even though hemp is from the "safe" part of the plant, I am afraid to try this, as even a miniscule amount of (insert the appropriate acronym here if you know what I mean) will get me into some really muddy water.
Has anybody tested this?

Not that I know of.
FWIW this kind of hemp should come from different subspecies of the plant (sativa instead of indica), specifically selected and grown for industrial use because of their better fibers and low contents of the 'active ingredient'; have a look here for more details.
I'd bet there's not enough residue to fail a urinalysis when this hemp is used as a wick for vaping, but then again it's just speculation on my side, I'm afraid...
Hey, all.. just read through the majority of the thread and am thinking about trying the hemp. Been using SS for over a year but hemp does seem safer. I now primarily use Igo L's and occasionally my DIDs...How easy can u switch flavors with hemp on a dripper? That's what I love about SS, easy to switch when flavor diminishes or just give a dry burn every few days to degunk or after a strong flavor.... Can u dry burn at all to clean or check for shorts? Thanks!

A8, very inefficient machine with the extremely long wick run from the juice to the coil. Here with a 30g oval coil 2.1 ohms and two 2mm hemp wicks (that's 4 strands or 8mm going into the tank) it is now keeping up with me.
No dry burning with the wick inside the coil. What I do is simple: PetarK method but horizontal. I make a nice round perfect coil in 30 AWG. Then I thread the wick in. Change flavor? Clean the thing? Remove the old wick, dry burn the coil only, insert new wick. Done.
Not as easy as SS but pretty darn close.

Sounds good but I foresee difficulty threading the perfect amount of wick into the premade coils... guess ill have to match nail or screw size to diamater of wick or pull out single strands to fit extra so as to hace wick and coil snug and gapless.. Thanks
Perfect amount? Hemp swells and fills the gaps, don't worry about strangulation from swelling, that is a myth.
I use a folded 2mm and a bent piece of wire to thread it into the coil )-. 30 AWG will not change shape when I thread the wick. Then as BJ43 says.
Awesome. Just ordered the 2mm from lovepanel.... I think I can picture what u mean. Use something to pull the hemp through the coil from the other side, possibly hooking it w the bent end... Sure I can manage that. Looking forward to giving it a try... Thanks guys.
