Several comments in my thread'

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/484063-petition-hollywood.html

were deleted and designated off topic. I have no idea why. We were discussing vaping and hollywood and it seems all the comments that were deleted were right on topic. Please be so kind as to clarify this because as I respect the rules around here it's also very frustrating to be having a civil conversation with people while comments are being deleted left and right for no reason that is apparent to me. Thank you in advance and thank you for this forum.

i had a bunch of off-topic comments...so guilty as charged.

of course they were quite witty and irreverent if i do say so myself. i should get some benefit for that :)

But any relaxed conversation tends to stray a little off topic and then go back on topic. For example my comments about John Belushi might not have been about vaping but they may have inspired someone to point out that part of why Belushi died might have been that he smoked cigarettes which would have brought us right back to vaping. I can see if someone is purposely trying to sway the conversation to another topic, that being off topic, but to chop out every comment that doesn't include the word "vape" seems a bit of an overkill to me. Just my opinion though. Rules are rules I would just like to understand what rules were broken in this case.

11. Message conventions
Posts made by members must accord with certain conventions.
a. Off-topic digression: Stick to the topic. Do not deviate from the subject discussed in a thread as this is called off-topic (OT) posting. Open a new thread if a new issue arises from the discussion so others can always see by the title what the thread is about. Do not post the same topic in several forums (no double-posting / cross-posting).

And by the way:

9. Flaming, trolling, other misconduct
a. These are not permitted -

Criticising or complaining about a Moderator, or how the site is run, except via PM (private message).
