For what it's worth, I ordered 2 ProTanks from Cloud 9 vaping (who I believe are fairly reputable over here in UK) and both have an R rather than a TM. Maybe it's a geographical difference rather than genuine/fake?
how about letting your coils temper.
some times it takes a little vaping to temper the coil.
some times after a cleaning ,a rebuild,or new atty head,you will still get a burnt taste.
after no more than a quarter of a fill this should go away.
you can pre burn,scorch your kanthal,any thing you like, but some times until
the juice meets the coil the metal may still need some tempering.
quit throwing away new atty's.

Theres something not right here. My box looks different, i didnt have the rubber cap on the drip tip when i unboxed it. Im having WAY more trouble than imaginable with this device and some of the asthetics look off. As well as the szkanger.com on the bottom of the box.

Kanger QC on the coils have been not so great lately. Search the forum a lot of people are noticing the same thing or dropping a new coil in and it not even producing.
DONT USE THE COILS THAT COME IN THE PACKAGE WITH THE TANK. I didn't because somewhere here at ECF I read not to. So I didn't. I use 1.8ohm coils. The ones that came with the tank were higher. I assume you already went through those since you went through 4.
Another thing to do. If you burnt an coil new or not, dump the liquid out, disassemble completely and rise/soak in hot water. The burnt coil can actually contaminate the WHOLE tank of liquid or what's left in it. Which makes every vape after changing from a burnt coil taste burnt. It sucks having to dump a full pt2 but I had no choice.
Had a burnt coil went to change it and as soon as I took the base off, I smelt the burnt taste I just had in my mouth from the tank. I know it was the tank/fluid because the coil and base, I had just dropped in the sink of hot water to rinse off.

My ones didn't have a rubber cap on the drip tip and they also have szkanger.com on the box, I finally got a response from the website which appears to be a legitamate US Service Ctr for Kanger (could be wrong on that though). TBH I'm new to vaping and I found the protanks rather fiddly.
Im just trying to figure this out, other people protank boxes have the actual tank part clearly there, mine seems faded. I refuse to believe that they could manufacture such a terrible product. This thing wont even draw correctly, just gurgles. I checked EVERYTHING.
Kangertech is a registered trademark (check Kangertech.com) - newer ProTanks will certainly have the (R) as opposed to TM.
Did yours come with a security code inside that you can check online? My PT3 did...
where would i find that at?
unless its on the inside of the box i cant find it.

The one Ive been using with no issues (yet... fingers crossed), has an R not a TM. The scratch off code is on the outside of the red inner box.
Yea that is DEFINATELY not there. I was looking hard for one of those and I couldnt find it. But that is blatantly obvious.

My Kanger Protanks did not come with the security code, and I trust my vendor - he says he gets them directly from Kangertech, but they have been working flawlessly! Aboslutely love'em for mild tasting eliquids
Not sure how recently they started putting these on there - I've seen some videos where they had a holographic sticker instead (don't know whether those were legit or not lol!) - from Kanger's website:
Sounds like there's probably as many fakes out there as real ones
