ok so i got a brand new kanger pro tank today from vancity vapor. i was dissappointed to find it didnt come with the fancy box everyone has been raving about and only 1 spare head, but what do you expect for $20. anyway put in some vanilla juice and started to go at it, airy draw is an understatement. after getting that first feel for it, it had this weird plasticy metallic taste. rinsed it out and took off the top wick and tried again, still weird. so i figured it was what they had polished it with and continued. took half the morning and untill about 6 pm until it started tasting better? just wanted to share that with anyone that is thinking of buying one, maybe a vodka bath would have helped.

This is what I use to restrict the air flow. They fit perfectly around the bottom connection and can be layered if you want more or less restriction.

I had the same thing happen with a Kanger T3, so now I give all my new stuff a vodka bath and haven't had that problem since. I just buy the cheapest rotgut vodka I can find, so rest assured that no Stoli is going to waste :D

I've gotten both the standard packaged Protank and "deluxe" protank, and found both to be identical to my knowledge, other then the packaging(which both went in the trash afterwards anyways). I use the Tank Airflow Controller on mine, but I suggest screwing the Protank onto it, let it push the center pin of it down and grind the center pin that sticks out from the controller's 510 connection on a sharpening stone. The pin will stick out pretty far on most tanks I've put on the controller, but its cheap and easy enough to do. Also, the adjustment on it is VERY easy to adjust, so easy it won't stay where you put it for long, so I put a small drop of blue loctite on the inner controller threads, put on the protank, adjusted to my liking and let it sit to dry.

That nasty taste isn't anything but the coil burning the wick. They don't wick well enough especially with anything with a high vg content.

If this happens, you remove the pipe from the coil.
Remove 1 flavor wick
Attach the pipe again and test.
Normally fixes the problem

So after I was messing around for a while I tried the juice I bought in a drip atty and it turns out to be the juice, it tastes awful. Like plastic, I think I will try and take it back, they must have messed something up, Devine fog vanilla, from vanity vapor. First time dealing with them I guess I will see what the return policy is like.

You can also tighten the draw by changing the standard Protank coil/head with an evod coil/head. Substantially, better draw imho. Lots of folks get used to the airy draw fairly quickly, and love the clouds that the device can produce, which can be substantially better than a whole lot of clearomizers.

Additionally, and air flow controller like this one, helps big time:

Tank Airflow Controller

Anyway, welcome to the forum, congrats on getting here, good luck and Vape On!

The one I had didn't really shine until I started rewicking them with double overed 2mm wick. I haven't used cotton yet but I heard it works very well. Evod head top will tighten the draw quiet a bit. Though with the recoil larger wick, I didn't find this to be an issue anymore. I usually vape 50/50 or higher vg ratios with it. Messing with it, air flow controller if ya choose, you can kinda mix and match till you find your sweet spot.

just recieved mine, goods nice, and well built. The beauty ring doesnt work with my ego twiste for some reason, no big deal since I already had one that works good with the kanger. So far I think its ok, lots of vapor, good throat hit and taste doesnt seem to bad. Doesnt stack up to my carto tank though IMO. carto has a better taste, more vapor and over all seems better to me. But im using a different liqud in the kanger. When thats done ill put teh same liquid in and see what happens.
