I didn't mean to come off as attacking! I just think that there's a lot of misinformation going around regarding battery safety. Zen is especially weary of dual coils in Genesis mods, but from personal experience and testimonies from friends, I know that it works perfectly, and has no negative impacts on batts (that I've observed).

I know. I did not take it that way. As I said, I am a real novice. I had heard the same information from several people and just was trying to be helpful. What I probably should have said is that people should research and get all the facts before trying anything that could have some implications. You are correct, I should post with facts and not just my (meager) opinions. thanks!

Idk if you can really tell from the picture, but instead of just using 1 strand of resistance wire, here I'm using 2 intertwined strands. In this case, I twisted together a strand of 34g Kanthal-A1 and a stand of 36g Kanthal D.

Though vapor production was already excellent due to my "mac-attack" tweak, the dual coil vastly improved it! The most notable change in performance is how I no longer need to take 10 second drags to get plumes of vapor :D. Only thing not perfect with my current setup is that I'm using a fairly thick VG juice (Butterscotch from COV) with 400 mesh. Regardless, it's wicking just fine if I tilt it on its side. Getting some 325 mesh in the mail from Urq later this week, as well as some from Armen at a vape-meet here in LA on Saturday.

Here are a few more pics...

How is your battery life? Did it drop off a lot or are you still vaping around the same amount before the battery goes?
You intertwine 2 strands of R wire (I suggest using 34 and 36), which lowers overall resistance of wire, and thus allows you to use more wraps and also achieve much lower resistances. For instance, I have a 4/5 wrap coil in my ody that's .8ohms right now.

I bored out the airflow hole to 5/64", which was a mod first suggested by a member here on ecf named Mac_206. Man can that dude blow some serious clouds....
Here's a quick vid I made showing off my katana with the 5/64" hole. Might make one detailing the dual coil, but it'll be from a more technical standpoint where I'll explain the safety risks (or lack there of) of dual coil atomizers, battery output, batt stacking, and other varieties of atomizers that employ multiple heating elements.

Oh it'll be there, have no fear. In addition to the 6 I already listed, I'm probably going to also have my new crazy dual coil atty that urq turned for me, as well as my equally crazy modded scubagen v3!
Throw up a pic of your coil heating up so I know what to expect on Saturday, and maybe we can help you get performance up to par before then. If it's easier, you can just text me the pics and I can throw em up on the forum for you or shoot you the links.

The dual coils are SO finicky in the katana. Might have to reinstall this coil for the 3rd time now...such a pain. They just kink so easily, which almost always makes it short in that spot. Finally got my huge order of juice in from pink spot, and now I don't have a Katana setup to vape it in xD

Yeah, DCs are tough to pull off in the katana. I personally find the single coil more satisfying and far less fidgety in most Genisis configurations. While you can get a wick going well enough to keep up, everything is so tight that you have to adjust things all the time.
