I also have some rattle issues with AW IMR 18650s in my Katana (v1), which I solved with a 12mm magnet on the bottom and a 6mm on the nipple, but I was wondering if the magnets could potentially limit the flow of current?

If they do limit current it would only be because the surface of the magnets or battery contacts were dirty. I use magnets in my V1 and the performance has not degraded at all. In my V2 the magnets are not necessary. :)

thxs lord, yeahh can't wait, it is a V2 but "fixed" in terms of the air intake hole (180 degrees) and the filler hole (1,5 mm) Only gripe is that he cannot turn the ring to lock the switch...will have to see if I can get it to move, but according to the seller it works perfect and does not fire when it is standing on a table...
WooHoo!!!

Congrats emonty :)

It'll come loose easily. What happened was the previous owner did not lube the threads and stainless will lock together because it is a fairly abrasive metal. To get it apart without damaging anything just get a couple of those round or square rubber sheets that people use to open jars with to get grip. Hold the lock ring with one opener and the threaded part that goes into the battery tube with the other. It may take some pressure, but it will come loose :)
